My journey into blogging began with a personal challenge: finding a foundation for my very fair skin. Frustrated by the limited options at MAC and Sephora, where everything seemed too dark or too orange, I turned to mineral makeup and discovered the vibrant world of indie beauty. Over the past two decades, my passion has grown beyond foundation reviews.
In 2012, I embraced a cruelty-free lifestyle, deeply influencing every facet of my life. Phyrra.net has since evolved to cover a plethora of topics: alternative fashion, lifestyle, healthy living, mental health, and crucial women’s health issues, including my personal experiences with a prophylactic double mastectomy, PMDD, and perimenopause. I’ve also authored the Hooded Eyes Makeup Manual, a testament to my commitment to my audience’s needs and interests.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Navigating the online world has its shadows, especially as a woman. I’ve faced the darker side of the internet, from harassment to death threats and even stalkers. But one of the more subtle, yet profound challenges has been grappling with Google’s updates.
These changes seem to sideline small, hobby blogs like mine, pushing our genuine content down in search rankings in favor of big advertisers and less authentic sources. It’s a constant struggle to maintain visibility and authenticity in a space increasingly dominated by commercial interests.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Tech has been my playground since I was 20! My journey began in software QA testing, evolved into technical writing, and even dived into the exciting world of video game development for seven years. My expertise expanded to roles like front-end web specialist, online web instructor, Lead Video Specialist, and SharePoint Developer.
Harnessing my love for content creation, I’ve spent the last four years working alongside two celebrity friends, managing and enhancing their YouTube and OnlyFans accounts. It’s a realm where my tech skills and creative passions collide beautifully.
There was a time when my life was all about the hustle, immersing myself in work. But times have changed. Now, I’m all about working to enhance my life, cherishing moments with family and friends above all. This shift in priorities has brought a new, fulfilling rhythm to my days.
