Conversations with Alicia Campos Masso

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Campos Masso.

Alicia Campos Masso

Hi Alicia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hola! I’m from Spain, and I’ve always been passionate about art, education, and empowering others. I love working with kids supporting them in discovering their creativity and teaching art history that includes thousands and thousands of women artists. I also run workshops for women to help them tap into their inner strength and pursue their dreams.

I’m currently getting my PhD in Art Theory, Philosophy, and Aesthetics. I’m fascinated by the power of art to transcend cultural barriers and bring communities together. As a cultural agent, I am involved in several projects that bring art to our lives in a genuine manner. I have several presentations that uncover hidden women artists, and writers such as Marguerite Porete in the Middle Ages. I wonder why we keep dividing the community and the academia. One of my goals is to keep being a bridge between both.

I’m always looking for new ways to use art to make a positive impact on our communities.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a cultural agent and as a woman, I have encountered the barriers of gender…

Working in my project 100 Women Artists in Art History with hundreds of artists men and women supporters… I keep pushing forward our common effort for a better us that includes all young and adults regardless of identities, binaries/non-binaries, and genders.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
As a cultural agent, I believe that art has the power to transform lives and open doors to education. Throughout history, women have been marginalized and underrepresented in art history and other academic disciplines such as philosophy, science, and so on.

The patriarchal rhetoric is still strong and not understood clearly since we are born in it starting with our own already constructed language and ways to educate children. My community art projects aim to address this imbalance and empower young women to pursue their dreams which include being students of science, art, law, and medicine, and on the other hand, learning about entrepreneurship and unique ways of lifestyle that fit well with their vocations.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting.
Surround yourself with those who keep you growing and help others to grow. It is in giving that we fulfill our purpose in life. Education is a right of every child and adult and is limitless.

As an artist and entrepreneur at www.happy-industries.com I recommend focusing on your purpose in life, there is only one YOU. I invite you to my next solo exhibition on September 6, 2024, where we can continue this conversation…

Address of my solo show: 1200 Snell Isle Boulevard NE  St Pete FL with Bella Unica Art Events.
