Exploring Life & Business with Sean Murphy of The Graydon Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Murphy.

Sean Murphy

Hi Sean, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Grew up in a military household. Went to the University of Tampa for an undergrad studying entrepreneurship. Worked in medical sales after college. During that time invested in a few medical companies and was involved in some Medical office/surgery center development.

Made the move out of sales and created The Graydon Group which is comprised of myself, my father, and my brother. The Graydon Group continued to invest in medical companies and development. Three years ago, we moved into storage development with our first Garage Condo project branded Paddock1 (P1). Today, we are raising funds to continue to add more Paddock1 facilities to our portfolio.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not been a smooth road. But that is typical of any project or investment. You have to be able to improvise and find creative solutions to continue. Covid has been the biggest hurdle we have had to deal with.

On the medical side, we lost a lot of business due to some of the investments being ancillary to Surgeon Practices. The same for Paddock1 as we were under construction during Covid. We faced labor shortages, cost increases for materials, financial institutions, and investor hurdles, it was not an easy project to get across the finish line.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Graydon Group?
We are a family organization based on military values. We specialize in private equity investments and development in the medical space. What sets us apart is our determination and success in providing solutions to any obstacle or hurdle that we are met with during a project or investment.

We are most proud of our Paddock1 brand as it is the first completed development project outside of our comfort zone in the medical industry. Our readers should know that we hold ourselves to a higher standard in our PE strategies and development offerings. This comes from our deep-rooted military values and culture.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Dr. Kevin P. Murphy – Father, mentor, financier, and friend. My father has been my only supporter since day 1 of my pursuits and aspirations.

Jordan Farrales – Developer Partner on Paddock1 Premium Garage Condos. Jordan’s extensive experience in the self-storage industry made him a vital piece to our success in our first garage condo development. Jordan is also a great friend and supporter.
