Today, we’d like to introduce you to K.D Collins. K.D was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Aisha Jones.
K.D , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a young wife and mother at 19, I didn’t get to travel due to timing and finances. As my kids got older and we became more financially stable I began to travel more with husband and kids. As a getaway from everyday life me and one of my best friends Tasha would go on a “Girls Trip”. It would always start out as a big group then it would just be us the day of the trip. I remember in 2018 I was planning a group trip of 20 plus ladies to Puerto Rico that never went through. Fast forward to March of 2022. A vision came to me and I made a random Facebook post in a group I created asking “Who would like to go on a day trip with me to New York for brunch”? It was about 15 ladies and 12 of them I met for the first time at the airport gate. That’s how we became “Fly Girls Brunch Social Club”! Now I have two chapters one in Tampa and Tallahassee. We are now at 100 members combined! Fly Girls have traveled to NYC twice, Washington DC, The Bahamas,New Orleans and Toronto,Canada where we did our first buyout of a restaurant for brunch!
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I think what set me apart from everyone and any other group is me generally being my authentic self and walking in my own vision. I knew I wanted my group to be different.Everyone goes to brunch but not in a different city so that what really set us apart. What I love the most is the genuine connections and friendships that are made once the ladies join the group. Fly Girls show up and have a great time no matter where we are. I also love seeing the healing that is taking place amongst the women.These ladies are coming from all different walks of life but when we are together we are one big family. This space was created to allow you to experience the luxury of sisterhood,travel and networking. We allow the ladies to not be in mommy,spouse, or full time worker mode for a few a hours but to be YOU!
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Aisha Jones and HONEY BEEZ ESTHETICS and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with HONEY BEEZ ESTHETICS.
I reached out to Aisha to help my teenage daughter A’lyse with her acne breakouts.As a result of her breakouts she was very subconscious about her skin. Aisha did a consultation and facial for A’lyse and assured her she would help her get a promising skin regimen. My daughter and I absolutely loved not only the products but the knowledge she provided for us both. A’lyse’s skin and confidence has done a complete 360 since we came to Aisha. I love their relationship because you know as a teenager you know “everything”(lol) and don’t want to listen at your parents. So the fact that she love and listen at her is a win for me! I would recommend her to every parent that has a teenager struggling with their skin because she’s knowledgeable,patient and really care about kids because of her story as a teenager with skin issues. 10/10 we highly recommend Aisha Jones!
