Today, we’d like to introduce you to Julia Roslawski. Julia was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Koni LJ Hunter.
Julia, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a somewhat stable home but I was definitely the least favorite child. That shaped who I became and how I handled everything. I became a major people pleaser due to wanting to feel like I belonged and mattered to someone. Helping people became second nature and influenced me joining healthcare.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I am a paramedic- I have been in the field of emergency medicine for 10 years. Prior to that, I spent my life helping the sick and wounded. EMS felt like a perfect fit for me.
Koni LJ Hunter and Sound Mind and Body Wellness have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Koni LJ Hunter and Sound Mind and Body Wellness and your experience with them.
Koni is a massage therapist and owner of Sound Mind and Body Wellness. I found her after browsing Groupon looking for a couples massage. My husband and I were new to the area and did not know anyone. We had gotten massages in the past but while they would feel good in the moment, the feeling never lasted. The massage that I received from Koni was incredible. For the first time, the relaxation lasted well after the massage was over. I haven’t gone to anyone since.
During this time of my life, I was struggling really hard with anxiety and depression. My self worth was non-existent to begin with but between the pandemic and my normal issues, I was struggling. I had been going to multiple different therapist and had tried numerous medications that never helped. Leaving my house became so overwhelming that I shut myself in. That majorly affected my relationship with my husband.
After several massage sessions with Koni, she mentioned that she was branching out and beginning a program to help women with anxiety and depression that she calls Make Your Life a Priority. At this point, I was at the end of my rope (literally and metaphorically speaking) and took a leap of faith. I will admit, I was skeptical at first. Everything I have done up to this point had never helped. It was the best decision I have ever made. The program was 16 weeks long and I made so much progress in those few weeks than I had my whole life with therapists. It was the first time that I felt that I had full permission to be vulnerable and messy. There were no judgements and plenty of encouragement along the way from Koni. She was so supportive in helping me find my own self worth and navigate through my healing. Her kindness, compassion and touch have helped so much. I have been off of prescription medication for over a year now. The things that used to bother me and cause me to lash out have no hold on me any longer.
I am so grateful for Koni
