Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Spackman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Going through my teenage years, I became aware of how connecting to the body through diet and lifestyle improved my life. I became a Registered Dietitian and Registered Yoga Teach where I am to help others bring awareness back to their body and develop a positive relationship with their mind and body.
I began working with adolescents with eating disorders and saw the pandemic the country is now facing. I decided to start virtual nutrition counseling to help keep it affordable and accessible to the public.
In addition to nutrition counseling, I host wellness retreats for all ages.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth but slow. I started my business fresh into my career as a dietitian. I had to learn and still learn everything as I go.
As you know, we’re big fans of Mindful Nutrition RDN, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I help ages 10-early 20s develop a positive relationship with themselves and food through nutrition counseling. My focus/specialty is with the eating disorder population. Other focuses: family nutrition
Outpatient care can be an effective way to receive treatment. Meeting with a dietitian can often be the first step for people struggling with an eating disorder. I provide assessment and plan of care
What makes me different is my holistic approach to wellness which is why I host wellness retreats.
