Hi Carol, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Carol; Originally from Venezuela, a happy mom of two beautiful kids and a lovely dog call Roxy. I love red wine and create, I was able to realize my life-long dream… when I opened my flower boutique. I’m the owner of Blooming Flower & Art, located in Winthrop Town Centre Riverview, Florida. Growing up as a young child, I fell in love with the creative arts, always trying to find papers, glue, and crayons to create something!!! I’ve been blessed like my mom with a creative eye… “I was a born artist like her.” 15 years ago, I became a designer, after I graduated with a degree in Interior Design. To be honest, I didn’t set out in life to be a floral designer, I actually have nothing to do with flowers…. But here I am. I possess a passion for design, and I express it with fresh flowers. I wanted to learn how to create beautiful arrangements, and without any training, I start designing and creating unique flower arrangements. Initially, it was for my friends and family, but my passion, drive and hard work led me to the world of Professional Floral Designers. I was convinced that my calling had been found. For the past 13 years, I have been meeting amazing people from all walks of life. I have learned so much from the people that I was lucky enough to become part of their lives. In November 2019, after a lot of thought, prayer and much excitement, I formally launched Blooming Flowers & art. I got the opportunity to open the floral boutique and create no only weddings and events but also daily florals for special ones. I am so thankful to have a career that is creative and allows me to bring joy to the lives of others. I look forward to sharing my passion for flowers with you.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being a single mom was very hard. The money to start was not easy to find because the money I made was for my bills and kids. I need to have two jobs and safe money to be where I’m proud of myself, that I did it all by myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m, a floral design inspired by the organic and garden style. We work with unique flowers and create unforgettable weddings and daily florals for specials ones. My favorite creations are bride bouquets!!! “I try to create a piece of art in every design” At the flower boutique, we have plants and unique gifts from the local small business. We love to have hand made products and support small businesses. Our slogan is to live life in full bloom.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Right now is an amazing floral community and lots of great designers that teach you how to be better, I’m very impress of how many designers are willing to teach you My teachers Intrigue Designs Maryland Aniska Miami Fresh Designs Chester Heights Flower Community Design Sanctuary Fleursociety.
