Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Adams.
Hi Dani, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started photography as the secondary shooter at weddings. A friend had a baby and asked if I would take some photos.
After a decent first baby session, I was hooked!
I have worked for years and years perfecting my craft in the Tampa newborn and family photography space shooting thousands of sessions over the years ranging from newborn sessions, baby milestones, smash cakes, family sessions, holiday minis, maternity sessions, and a few engagements and weddings!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Photography works with people A LOT! You have good days and bad days and not every kiddo has a good day.
So, those are common daily struggles as a photographer but in this profession, you learn to improvise, make the best out of every session and most importantly mark the moments you see as they happen.
I constantly shock parents when the kids just aren’t feeling it, by surprising them with beautiful memories they just can’t see from their side of the lens as they see perfect smiles and cooperation that isn’t always the case.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve always been drawn to kids! I was a big sister and a member of the Safe Sitter club when I was in middle school.
My passion and love for kids followed me into this profession and gave meaning to something I already liked to do – take photos! Within minutes of meeting my client’s sweet babies, I usually bring out something they love to giggle and smile about.
I talk to them throughout the session, I make the whole thing about them – we play games and sometimes I make the occasional fart noises to get the emotion I’m trying to achieve.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The best advice I can give to those new to the photography world is to shoot as much as possible!
Get your friends, their kids, and their friends involved to get the exposure and experience you crave. Price yourself to make a profit and mentor someone who inspires you!
I’ve spent a lot of my career mentoring local photographers, answering questions, and sharing knowledge about how and what I shoot. This is a big client base and there is absolutely room for all budgets out there!

I love Dani’s photos so much! She somehow has captured the personalities of each of my grandchildren. (The 4 baby photos at the bottom). I look forward to seeing much more of her work!
