Meet Holly Hungerford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Hungerford.

Hi Holly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Hi! I’m Holly Hungerford. I am a born and raised Lakeland girl living in and loving on my local community. You can often find me traveling or hosting a party with great friends.

Growing up, I thought expanding my horizons looked like leaving this little town and chasing my dreams but the Lord had other plans. I have been drawn back here more times that I can count and have come to love this town I call home.

A few years ago, I found myself wrestling with a tough topic- emotional health. After walking through a difficult season with anxiety and some health issues, the Lord led me down a path toward healing and now uses my story to encourage and equip others.

Friends would regularly approach me to discuss their internal struggles and before I knew it a passion to see people set free was lit within me. Through that painful season, a book was birthed, and I am beyond thankful to see it helping others as they walk through their own seasons of struggle in pursuit of freedom.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a beautiful mix of both. But isn’t all of life, really? Lol. The challenge of sharing my story, even now, is the part that feels like self-promotion.

Though marketing your book is how you get it out there, it has been a hurdle I’ve faced both personally and professionally.

Generation Insecure was never a dream of mine. Who wants to share about their painful, internal struggle? But it has been a rewarding and encouraging journey as the book helps readers to experience healing and take steps toward true and lasting freedom.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a published author whose greatest passion is to lead others into a life free from anxiety. I’m beyond proud of the very personal and encouraging work written in Generation Insecure. You can purchase Generation Insecure on Amazon, Apple Books, or Barnes and Noble Press. I’m excited to announce that I have another book coming soon. It’ll be a new genre for me, possibly a novel (wink-wink), so be sure to connect on any of the platforms below to stay updated.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Well, I’m a firstborn, and firstborns tend to be very strong and goal-oriented. That is definitely true of me. I’m a “dust yourself off and keep going” kind of girl and that is am huge driving force as I pursue creative and uncharted ventures. A little bit of tenacity goes a long way, especially as an author.
