Hidden Gems: Meet Dae’l Pasco of The Womanhood Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dae’l Pasco.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Whenever I’m posed this question, I automatically think of my life of contradictions, extremes, and the abundance of grace. I always tell people that love pulled me out, and if it wasn’t for love, there’s absolutely no way I’d be able to pour into women as I do today. I grew up as an extremely quiet but outgoing, non-expressive but vocal, creative, and analytical child. I didn’t physically speak much but, I wrote every day, drew pictures, decorated my room often, dressed my own way, did my hair every single day, always found a book to read, and spent many hours on our family computer- creating graphics with many of the older programs that were used in the 90′ and early 2000s. Due to sexual abuse (at the hand of a babysitter) that I vowed to keep hidden forever, and family issues that were continuously undressed, I turn to porn as an outlet around the age of 12; years later, I became highly addicted to sex and often entertained pointless relationships. At the time, I saw nothing wrong with my actions but, as time progressed and I found myself in a relationship where I wanted to love and be loved but, didn’t quite no how. I began heeding to my convictions and made a vow to God that if He’d heal my heart, then I’d always search for the broken-hearted woman in the room and help her heal- so that she could accept her measure of grace, live in her true identity, raise her standards, embrace her high-maintenance life, and use her purpose to impact those she was created for.

This journey definitely did not happen overnight; however, it began as soon as I surrendered my heart and chose to live (and from) in God’s love- not for it. The night I made the mentioned promise, I began to create an outline for Her Whole Heart, this was my first non-profit that was created with broken-hearted women in mind- and many men were drawn to it as well. We’d often meet for coffee or brunch to read the Bible, set days for outings throughout different areas in Tampa and nearby cities, and held conferences that were centered around healing in order to live from a whole place. After a few years, it was placed on my heart to end Her Whole Heart for personal reasons- due to growth, maturity, and a new outlook on life; to which The Womanhood Academy was established.

The Womanhood Academy is where I see all of my life showing up in one multidimensional vision. This is where I desire to help women strategize, create their brands, meet up, host conferences, attend personal development courses, network, and chill. We work on the total woman, not just bits and pieces so that she shows up as solid. Wholeness is non-negotiable, and I desire every woman becomes solid, yet gentle.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. This road has been extremely bumpy, painful, aggravating, and scary to travel at times. The biggest challenge I’ve found myself facing is my mind. Our minds are extremely powerful, and if we don’t take control over the contents that occupy them, we’ll often find ourselves stuck, unproductive, bitter, searching for love from all of the wrong place and people, broke, hopeless, and in states of self-protection.

Once I began to target every thought in my mind, exchange the negatives for positives, affirm myself daily, accept and give God’s love, serve others, give from a place of abundance, and truly do what I love… I found that I stepped into a place of consistency and fulfilling flow.

Now “work” doesn’t feel like work. Giving doesn’t seem like I’m being stolen from. Helping doesn’t hinder me. And obstacles are simply viewed from a new vantage point of developmental blocks I just have to overcome, in order to be promoted.

A new mind and a new heart changes everything and growing can often be one of the most painful things we do as people, but it’s all worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Womanhood Academy is all about restoring the gentlewoman. The gentlewoman that many have suppressed because of life’s experiences; whether that be: losing herself due to marriage or motherhood, being subjected to some form of abuse, finding herself in bouts of depression, anxiety, and other issues, and much more. We desire to help women embrace their feminine nature, exchange their hardened hearts for a pliable one, to authentically show up as herself with no apologies, and move in her gentle power of poise, grace, and elegance.

We offer group coaching. (The Total Woman Revamp), classes on wifehood (Wifeology), a monthly community fast/and yearly 31-day morning meet up (The Jumpstart), as well as monthly networking sessions for 3 power hours to produce and curate (At The Table).

I am extremely proud of the fact what we officially launched in November of 2021 and how we’ve already helped well over 70 women to “become.” So many barriers have been destroyed in the lives of the women, and many of them have been able to heal from childhood traumas simply as a result of showing up for themselves at The Womanhood Academy. Helping others grow is something I’ll always be honored to do.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
When I think about my childhood, the memories that flood my mind are of my days in Alaska. Since my father was in the Air Force so, we moved often; however, Anchorage, AK was our last stop before our parents divorced. I have so many great memories of my time there but, the one that comes to mind at this moment is of the many mornings I’d wake up to hear our neighbors cutting their grass, jets flying nearby, and the low static I’d sense as a result of my father watching Saturday morning football. I’d always hop out of bed, run downstairs to sit with him for a moment, eat, get ready and then find my way outside. It’s not a grand memory but, it always reminds me of the beauty of simplicity, what truly matters, and joyful moments… The ones that stay forever etched in the heart and put a smile on the face.
