Community Highlights: Meet Edyta Chylinski of Spa Sudeva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edyta Chylinski.

Hi Edyta, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a licensed esthetician and Karuna reiki master. I’ve been in the beauty and wellness industry for over 20 years. I currently own Spa Sudeva, in south Tampa

I’m originally from Poland. My family and I, immigrated here, in 1984. We immigrated as political refugees. My father was part of the Solidarity movement in Poland, a movement that fought for workers rights.

My parents were persecuted and harassed daily by the government and authorities for my father’s involvement in the movement. The only choice for some semblance of peace, was leaving our homeland. As a parent myself, I can’t even fathom making that decision. I’ve always marveled at the fact that my parents were willing to uproot themselves from their country, their families, the only life they knew, to provide a better and safer life for their children. My family struggled for years, not knowing the language, feeling like strangers in a strange land, trying to survive every day. My parent’s determination and strength cultivated and inspired the person that I am today.

While life was tough for many years for my family and subsequently for me, it’s in that struggle that I learned the valuable lesson of overcoming challenges and shaping the resolve to pursue my goals.

I opened Spa Sudeva In 2011, having no experience in running a business. I was fueled by my vision and pure determination.

That vision was to create a peaceful space, a sanctuary, of healing. Having experienced many struggles, both emotional and physical, my highest goal was to provide our guests a brief interlude from stress, pain and suffering . I’m very fortunate to have a highly trained and talented staff, that helps me create that place of solace and healing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road. I had no real experience in running my own business. Many costly mistakes were made. What I did have was passion and a vision. It’s been extremely challenging throughout the years. But I never gave up. My ultimate goal was always very clear, and I was willing to push through all the mistakes and discomfort. I’m very glad I did.

Great, let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We believe beauty is a process of integrating your physical, emotional and spiritual health, which we achieve with Spa services that are far beyond the ordinary

We are Day Spa where the East meets West and the old meets new. A place where you can embrace a more natural way of being.

We provide a healing sanctuary away from ever day stress, as well as physical and emotional pain . Every detail in our Spa, is designed to support every guests well-being.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, personally, success is not measured by external factors. I think real success is in what one overcomes, what lessons one learns, by honoring ones truth and living authentically
