Hi Lisa Marie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Brows play a huge part of my life (and confidence). Back in the 90’s, thin was in and I took that to heart with over plucking the most beautiful thick brows, only to draw them back on. Fail. When thick brows made a well-deserved comeback, I was ready but unfortunately for me, my brows stopped growing back and it was pretty devastating.
After years of research, stalking talented artist’s work and seeing beautiful results, I decided it was time to get my brows micro bladed. I have zero regrets. The confidence boost it gave me when I looked in the mirror is something unexplainable. I was overcome with emotions that something as silly as eyebrows could make me as happy as they did. I felt my face was complete and that feeling was a good one. So good that I wanted that same empowering and confident feeling for other women.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any new endeavor, there are ups and downs.
My biggest worry was who was going to put their trust (and brows) in my hands. I had no reviews, no before or after photos to showcase… all I could offer were certifications and the promise that beautiful and natural-looking brows would be the result.
Additionally, supplies were still on backorder even with Covid slowing down, worrying if I was going to have all I needed to get the job done.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I offer microblading services! Microblading is a semi-permanent, go-to beauty treatment for women looking to obtain perfectly shaped (and filled in) eyebrows. Microblading enhances, reshapes, and fills to add on to or extend the eyebrows. It is a form of semi-permanent makeup that involves manually creating lines that mimic eyebrow hairs. Using a handheld tool and pigments to match it’s considered a part of the cosmetic tattoos category because the pigment is implanted under the skin. Crisp fine lines (strokes) that are almost indistinguishable from your natural hairs.
When it comes to our daily makeup routines, there’s always one step that takes the most time and requires attention to detail, eyebrows.
Not only do I love the boost of confidence that eyebrows give, I love and work towards the natural look. I want you to look in the mirror and feel that the brows you see are your perfect match.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have a background in Corporate Hotels. Making the switch from corporate to beauty was pretty seamless but it’s such different paths career-wise that it definitely gets some questions. From planning weddings to now creating magic on brows, I love working with women of all walks of life!
