Hi Adela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have worked for years in the field of banking and insurance. When I was pregnant with my daughter, and later when she was a toddler, I kept imagining how wonderful it would be to have someone to take your routine tasks off your hands. This initially gave rise to the idea of a mommy concierge service. Later, I realized that our everyday lives are basically quite stressful and many people need a helping hand for their standard tasks.
More than two years ago, I took the decisive step and started my own business.
However, my work experience has taught me something else – in many companies, morals and ethics are at an all-time low. With my company and my role as CEO, I want to show that things can be done differently. I want to encourage women, in general, to take on leadership roles and to realize their dreams and ideas.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
All beginnings are difficult and of course one has had doubts from time to time as to whether the decision was the right one. Shortly after I started my own business, the COVID pandemic hit and made many things more difficult.
However, many people worked from home during the pandemic and that is when they realized how helpful my services are. Not only having my team and I as their helping hand, but also allowing them to spend time with their loved ones and focus on what matters the most. The business is thriving and I have a good feeling about the future.
