Conversations with Diamond Knight

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Knight.

Hi Diamond, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started in my business (myself) after moving to Tampa. I got involved in multiple Influencer agencies to get myself brand deals and collaborations as a micro influencer. I took influencing more seriously when I started my blog, The Knightly Post. I’ve always wanted to start a blog and own my own domain. Thanks to my significant other, I was gifted my blog and domain as a Christmas gift. This helped jumpstart my influencing career. After writing organic blog posts, I decided to use this an advantage and I started pitching myself to brands which have landed me brand deals with big brands from Fabletics to NYX Cosmetics. Although I’ve been told many “no’s”, I’ve also been told many “yes'” and I’m grateful for that and my drive to keep going. I believe this same ambition will help me to continue to grow my personal business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road! I’ve been told “no” from many brands while pitching myself and I’ve also been told yes. I remember late nights, drafting emails to brands and creating impeccable media kits for myself to send to brands so they would want to collaborate with me. There’s still brands on my list that I’m still striving for. Also, while being a full-time college student, that has been a struggle within itself. I might have a paper due and five different social media deliverables due to brands that same day but it’s the life of an influencer and full-time student. Juggling school while building my personal brand has been a struggle but I’m still carrying it gracefully and it helps that I genuinely enjoy everything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Florida based influencer and content creator. I create organic content on my social media accounts sharing daily style and lifestyle inspiration. I create content for brands and for brands that I have influencer partnerships with such as: Express, Fabletics, Windsor, Dolce Vita, NYX Cosmetics, and more! I continue to run my blog The Knightly Post as well. I’m genuinely passionate about this kind of work and I think that sets me apart. It takes true determination and love to keep going and not get discouraged. I feel like this scope of work has taught me so much just in my general life. I feel like I’ve always been known for style and beauty. I love fashion and would even show up to school in high school with a full face of makeup because I just loved it! I love testing new styles and experimenting with it and show other people they can too! I always get comments of people saying they wish they could wear what I’m wearing and rock it. My goal is to show them they can and how!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Resilience. Resilience have been the most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey. I always tell myself, “the worst thing a person can say is no.” Just because someone else tells you “no” doesn’t me that’s it. There’s someone out there that will give me a yes. There’s probably a common theme here but this has been the common theme along my journey. A lot of people have told me “no” but a lot of people have told me yes. Just imagine if I would’ve stopped after the first no, I wouldn’t have experienced all of the “yes” opportunities. Overall, I’ve learned to not give up, keep going, and be confident!
