Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Morrissey.
Hi Joe, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My partner Steven Cox and I are both athletes with an affinity for golf. We are always looking for ways to improve our athletic performance and recognized lack of flexibility is hurting our results. We were introduced to Stretch Zone and immediately recognized the value of their industry-leading stretch techniques. We were amazed at the diverse clientele that ranges from teenagers to seniors. We were particularly impressed with the increased mobility gained by seniors after just three months of sessions. Having recognized the way Stretch Zone improved the quality of life for their clients, we wanted to be a part of the franchise and bring the service to the greater Tampa area. Our methods and protocols have been well received in Hyde Park, and we are very proud of the way our team has improved our clients’ mobility and lifestyle.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our store opened on August 24, 2020, which some would say was a “challenging” time because of Covid. We looked at life differently! We believed people are ready to get back to living, and what better way to get your body ready than being stretched and ready for action! Our intuition was “spot on,” and our phones began ringing off the hook on day one!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I come from the financial services sector, where I spent more than 25 years as a specialist and my partner Steve Cox is a PGA Professional. We wanted to bring health and wellness to the residents of Tampa. It is extremely gratifying to see the improvement in our client’s quality of life coupled with a renewed vigor for life. We are extremely fortunate to have assembled the most experienced and knowledgeable team in Stretch Zone history. Several team members eagerly relocated to the Tampa area and immediately fell in love with the city. Our stretchers utilize their years of experience to give our clients the best results.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
As a child, I was hyper-competitive! Regardless of the activity, there was always a winner! I hope to stay active and competitive well into my senior years.
