Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It was perfect timing, having great people in my life and a wonderful role model in my mother. I was in the corporate world working a typical 9-5, where I had started to become unhappy. I was also helping my mom at her nail salon after 5 pm and on the weekends doing lashes. I had always been involved in beauty and was a licensed esthetician. This helped me with the transition. After coming home regularly, defeated, my fiancé pushed me to change to be happy like I once was when we first met. Then we came up with this idea together, my fiancé Drew, Dr. Ramirez, who my fiancé knew, and I to create a business with the focus primarily on laser hair removal. In the beginning, it was a joke, more or less as my fiancé was super hairy and we would say we needed to open a laser hair removal shop just for him alone. It is funny how you stumble upon these wonderful opportunities in life, and given everyone’s background, it was an easy transition. Dr. Ramirez, as our medical director, my fiancé has a marketing and business background, and I would be the one performing the laser treatments as well as in charge of the front office. What also gave me the courage to pursue this endeavor was seeing my mom and how she has built her own business from scratch. She came over from Vietnam when she was just eighteen, and today she has carved out a good life for herself. She is my biggest inspiration. I am very fortunate. I have a wonderful role model and an amazing team. We (Dr. Ramirez, Drew, and myself) all get along and talk daily, always brainstorming, and most importantly, build each other up. It is a really positive environment we have created, and I am proud of what it has become. It makes everyday fun and worth going to work!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everything good life has its challenges and our business is no expectation. One of the biggest challenges I think all business owners have is keeping the doors open in the first two years. It was slow at the beginning and, when you start a business, you have expenses that can become daunting, but over time things work themselves out if you are persistent. Again having a great team always pulling together in the same direction was key. We all motivated one another and lifted each other up in our lows. Everyone had their different obstacles, Dr. Ramirez having to learn the new machine and procedures, Drew going to marketing events where he would not speak to a single person, and myself sitting at work all day hoping to see just one client. You feel like you are failing in these moments, so having others around you pushing you to stay the course is key. As long as one of the three of us believed we were going to be successful, the other two would start to believe it again if there was doubt and that role was constantly changing. The second challenge for me personally, in the beginning, was my fiancé, and I were working opposite schedules, so I didn’t see him much during our first year we started the business. It takes a toll on your personal relationship, as in order for your professional life to succeed, your personal life has to take a back seat.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nüde Laser Hair Removal?

Our one-year unlimited package is the second option, where our clients pay for seven treatments, but they will receive ten treatments in total. Laser hair removal generally can take anywhere from 8-10 treatments to remove the unwanted hair depending on the person. What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
It is hard to say what the future holds. I think the laser is a great alternative to shaving and waxing as there are some significant advantages. Some of these advantages include not having to deal with ingrown hairs, it is far less time consuming to maintain, and with our machine being virtually painless, you don’t have the discomfort associated with waxing. Overall, I hope the industry and demand continue to grow, but for us, we wish to focus mainly on our monthly and yearly goals. This allows us not to lose sight of our primary objective, which is providing our clients with the best care, and to be completely attentive to their needs. This, I guess, would be another thing that sets us apart from other laser businesses, for our goal is never to become a bigger corporation. We wish to be a boutique aesthetic business. That way, we always maintain that personal and human touch, which I think is lost more often than not in many places in today’s world.
