Daily Inspiration: Meet Tre Nichols

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tre Nichols.

Hi Tre, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started cooking in college. I was in nursing school when I realized that being a nurse was not my passion. In the midst of finding who I was and my purpose, I was also cooking. My friends and family encouraged me to cook go with my gut but I was very hesitant. Once I finally listened, we all came up with the name EnTre’s which included my nickname Tre’. I was in school and working a full-time job when Covid hit. I started taking side jobs on the weekends to get my name out in the community. I wanted to be a chef full time but I was nervous that I wouldn’t make as much money as I needed to sustain my lifestyle. I ended up getting fired and taking a leap of faith and actually putting my all into what I wanted to be. I’ve been working for myself full time and I have never looked back since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to where I am now has not been as smooth as I would’ve liked it to be. But having everything come easy is no fun lol. I think the biggest struggle is figuring out who I am and how to start. There are a lot of questions you have as a young entrepreneur that you have no answers to. That was something I really struggled with. I also had no one to ask. I learned a lot of what I know now through experience and just figuring it out as I go. I think that’s why it’s important for me to always help another business owner or entrepreneur who come to me with questions. It brings me back to when I had the same questions and didn’t know who to ask.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a private chef right out of the heart of Tampa Bay. I specialize in serving great food with great vibes. I love to cook but my favorite part about cooking is watching others enjoy my food. I also love creating art on a plate. Every time I plate, I always try to make it a little different than the last. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time. I’ve accomplished a lot at the age of 23. I’ve cooked for major athletes and celebrities without having a huge following or major platform. But I’m still making it happen.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
When you’re able to wake up every day and do and something that you love to do regardless of the obstacles or challenges that it comes with, that’s how you know that you’ve achieved success.
