Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Burch.
Hi Heather, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
How I started working in the Beauty Industry is about two years ago I went to go have my eyebrows microbladed and fell in love. Having my brows done completely changed my life and I wanted to be able to help others feel the same. I then right away started looking into where to get my certification and everything I needed to do to obtain my license. I have always wanted to work in the beauty industry but so many people scared me away saying it’s hard to build up clientele, there’s no guaranteed income, and how I need a degree. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree I just wasn’t happy with my decision and I decided to take a leap of faith and start my business. I opened Heather’s Beauty Galore in September 2020, working part-time at my salon and full-time still at the hospital. In May of this year is when I left the hospital and started working my business full time. One of the best decisions I have ever made!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, starting a business is not always a smooth ride; I have learned a lot through the whole process. One thing that would have helped me with opening my business would be to have a strong mentor. I had to learn some things the hard way and I spent way more money than I had to. Lots of hard days but the most important thing that I did was stay strong and know that I got this. That is why now on my social media I share all of the obstacles and challenges I have faced so I can then help someone else who is starting a business. I try to make it known that if anyone ever has any questions to please reach out to me and I will help. I love empowering others.
We’ve been impressed with Heather’s Beauty Galore, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have always had a passion for beauty, helping others, and making them feel good. My mission is to help every person achieve the beauty needs they desire with the respect and compassion they deserve. I promise everyone will walk out feeling and looking amazing. I am a licensed tattoo artist and esthetician. I offer microblading, brow tinting, teeth whitening, plasma fibroblasting, full-body waxing, and custom facials.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, my mom was a beauty consultant for Mary Kay, so I grew up with beauty products all around me. I have a strong background in makeup and different beauty products; constantly trying out new products and trying new beauty trends. I also used to do oil painting growing up, which I need to get back into. I have always loved drawing and creating beautiful artwork.
