Meet Daniela Onet of Daniela’s Nail Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Onet.

Hi Daniela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started in 2017 when I went to a nail school in Europe, more exactly in Transylvania (Romania), where I was trained the nails proper technique and gained the knowledge in the nail world. It was like a hobby for me because I finished Law and I was working in my field but doing my close friends’ nails on weekends. After moving to USA at the end of 2018 I wanted something more flexible for my family and also more creative for myself, so I decided to go to nail school again and start my own business, a nail salon that will bring something new like the dry manicure, the hard gel or acrygel. Starting out and growing up a business, especially during a pandemic, was probably the hardest part. The fact that I was new to the country, knew nothing about owning a business, had no clientele, and European products that people never heard of it, made it even harder. However, it’s very important to believe in yourself and focus on perfecting your technique and how to improve your services every day. I am grateful to all my clients who trusted my skills and the products I am using; they are part of what I accomplished until now.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t very smooth because of the challenges that we all face these days with the pandemic and the fact that I was new on the nail care market. I am happy I choose Salons by JC Valrico as the place where to start my business, renting a suite there was the best decision. I have nothing but amazing words for the owner and the manager there, they are always there for you when needed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I focus more on natural nail strengthening, on making sure that my clients’ nails are healthy. I specialize in Hard gel, Acrygel, and Fiber Base gel because I love the way these products feel on the nails, they are light, not thick, keep the nail strong, they are cruelty-free, and do not contain any of the substances that could affect your nails or your health. I am importing most of my products from Europe, the Hard gel, Acrygel, or Fiber Base gel are not very popular yet, in USA, but that is what makes my salon different and I am enjoying the fact that I stand out from the other nail salons. Also using the dry manicure technique (also called Russian manicure) when performing a manicure makes the difference between my salon and other salons because this amazing technique is popular in Europe and Russia, not in USA.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
You know, new challenges can be risky and stressful, but if you invest in your learning, improve yourself every day by keeping yourself up-to-date with trends will give you a better chance to distinguish yourself among others for years to come. I love it when my clients come back and tell me ” I had so many compliments on my nails” or ” I can’t believe how strong my nails are now” it motivates me to be better, it makes me happy.
