Hi Tahmina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My henna journey began in 2010 when I first picked up a henna cone out of pure curiosity and love for the art. What started as a hobby, practicing on friends and family, quickly grew into a passion that I couldn’t imagine living without.
Over the years, I dedicated myself to learning and improving my skills as a self-taught artist, exploring different styles and techniques while developing my own unique approach. As word spread, my small hobby turned into a business, and I began serving brides, families, and clients for weddings, celebrations, and special events..
Today, I specialize in bridal henna and lead a talented team that provides henna services for events of all sizes. Based in Florida and traveling wherever my clients need me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many small business owners and artists, my journey has not always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was building a business from the ground up as a self-taught henna artist. In the beginning, I spent countless hours practicing, learning through trial and error, and working to gain the trust of clients.
There were also moments of self-doubt and the pressure to constantly improve my work in a competitive industry. However, each challenge helped me grow both as an artist and as a business owner.
Today, I feel grateful for every step of the journey. The challenges made the successes even more meaningful, and I’m proud to have turned a passion that started in 2010 into a career that allows me to be part of some of life’s most special moments.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Florida-based henna artist specializing in bridal henna and event henna services. Along with my team, I work on weddings, parties, and cultural events, creating detailed, personalized designs for each client.
I’m especially known for clean, intricate bridal work and rich henna stains using natural henna. What I’m most proud of is building my business from the ground up as a self-taught artist and growing it into a trusted name for brides.
What sets me apart is the personal care I give each client and the ability to manage both intimate bridal work and larger events through my team, while maintaining quality and detail in every design.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5–10 years, I see henna becoming even more popular, especially for weddings and special events. People will want more simple, personal, and custom designs instead of just standard patterns.
Social media will keep influencing trends, and more artists will grow into teams so they can handle bigger events while keeping good quality.
