Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Easton.
Hi Victoria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Photography started as a hobby for me when my daughter was born. I wanted a way to document her childhood and all of her little and big moments. I’ve always loved taking beachy photos, editing them, and making them feel bright and warm.
Taking pretty photos eventually turned into something more as my friends and family started asking me to photograph their own special moments. Last year, I’ve officially grown Saltwater Bliss Photography into a business, and I’ve had the opportunity to capture everything from families and couples to proposals, weddings, and elopements.
Building this business has meant editing late at night after my daughter goes to bed and learning as I go. It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s been so amazing turning something I’ve genuinely loved doing for years into a career where I get to help other people preserve memories they’ll cherish forever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing motherhood, a full time job, and building a photography business at the same time. I definitely still struggle with turning off “business mode.” I seriously love what I do, but my mind is constantly thinking about what I can do next to grow and be better. It can be pretty hard to step away from working on photography and simply enjoy life in the moment when you’re always thinking of new ideas or goals for your business!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a lifestyle photographer based in the Tampa Bay area, and I specialize in couples, families, proposals, weddings, and elopements. My style is very bright, warm, and true-to-life. I love photos that feel happy, joyful and in the moment!
I think what I’m most known for is making people feel comfy in front of the camera. One of the best compliments I get all the time from clients is that they were nervous before their session but ended up having so much fun. I always tell my couples that our session should feel like a fun date night!
What I’m most proud of is how much Saltwater Bliss Photography has grown in such a short amount of time. My first month of officially launching the business was honestly mind-blowing because I couldn’t believe how many people wanted me to take their photos. And now I’m photographing proposals, weddings, and families from all over the country who are visiting Florida.
What sets me apart is the amount of care and effort I put into every client experience. I’m very VERY driven and once I set a goal, I don’t give up easily. That same mindset carries over into my photography. I take my time when editing and don’t place a strict cap on the number of photos clients receive. If I captured a moment I love, chances are I’m going to edit and deliver it because I put myself in my clients’ shoes and know those are the memories I would want to have. I also genuinely enjoy getting to know the people I photograph. Some of my favorite parts of this job are meeting new people, hearing their stories, helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and showing them just how beautiful they are. My goal is for clients to leave not only with photos they love, but with an experience that gave them more inner confidence than they had before.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending summers outside with all my siblings in Indiana. We grew up before everything revolved around technology and phones, so we were always outside making our own adventures. We’d ride our bikes for hours around the neighborhood, go swimming almost every day, catch frogs, fish in the lake, have lemonade stands. Looking back, those simple summer days felt like they would last forever, and they’re some of my happiest memories.
