Hi Devony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Posh Petals was built on faith, creativity, and the willingness to say “yes” before having it all figured out.
I didn’t come from a traditional floral design background. In fact, I opened a flower shop with no background. What I did know was that I loved beautiful spaces, thoughtful details, and creating experiences that made people feel seen and cared for.
I spent countless hours learning, studying, practicing, and trusting my instincts while building a team that shared the same passion for serving others. In a short time we became super successful and Posh Petals evolved from a neighborhood flower shop into a design focused floral studio known for timeless weddings, meaningful sympathy work, and arrangements that tell a story.
Along the way, we’ve had the privilege of celebrating life’s happiest moments and comforting families during their hardest ones. Those experiences have shaped our philosophy that flowers are more than a gift, they’re a way to express love, honor memories, and create lasting connections.
Today, while still rooted in Plant City we serve clients throughout Central Florida. Our style is classic yet current, garden inspired yet refined, and every design is created with the belief that beauty has the power to bring people together.
Looking back, the journey wasn’t built on having all the answers. It was built on faith, perseverance, a commitment to continual learning, and the courage to keep growing. That’s the heart of Posh Petals and it’s still what inspires us every single day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any small business, we’ve experienced our share of challenges, learning an entirely new industry, navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, building a talented team, and adapting to an ever changing market. Perhaps the most unexpected challenge came when I was diagnosed with leukemia while leading and growing the business.
That season changed my perspective in many ways. It reinforced the importance of surrounding yourself with incredible people, extending yourself grace, and finding purpose even in difficult moments. It also deepened my appreciation for the role flowers play in people’s lives…bringing joy during celebrations and comfort during seasons of loss.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Posh we create thoughtfully designed floral experiences for weddings, celebrations, sympathy tributes, and everyday moments. We also specialize in custom silks and holiday home installations.
We’ve become especially known for our designs that truly reflect the life and personality of our clients.
What I’m most proud of is that we’ve built a business rooted in trust. Our clients often come to us with just a vision or sometimes no vision at all and confidently say, “We trust you.” That trust is something we never take for granted!
What sets Posh Petals apart is our approach to design and service. We focus on creating pieces that feel curated rather than mass-produced, taking inspiration from nature, classic design, and the unique stories behind each order.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There isn’t just one person I can point to, Posh Petals is the result of so many people who have believed in us along the way.
First and foremost, my family has been my greatest source of encouragement, supporting the long hours, the risks, and the unwavering belief that this dream was worth pursuing. Their faith in me has carried me through some of the most challenging seasons, including my battle with leukemia.
I’m incredibly grateful for our team, whose creativity, dedication, and heart bring Posh Petals to life every single day. They care deeply about every arrangement and every customer, and I’m constantly inspired by their willingness to grow and serve alongside me.
I’m also thankful for the countless clients who have trusted us with some of the most meaningful moments of their lives…from weddings and anniversaries to celebrating new babies and honoring loved ones. Every order is an act of trust, and it never gets old hearing, “We know you’ll create something beautiful.”
Finally, I’m grateful for the local community and the fellow small business owners who have cheered us on, collaborated with us, and reminded us that success is built through relationships. Posh Petals wouldn’t be what it is today without the people who have chosen to support local, recommend us to a friend, or simply believe in what we’re creating.
Looking back, I’ve learned that while flowers may be our business, people are truly at the heart of everything we do, and I’m incredibly thankful for every person who has been part of this journey.
