Daily Inspiration: Meet Britty Kelley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britty Kelley.

Hi Britty, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always been the person with a camera in hand. Long before phone eats first was a trend, I was documenting everything. My friends, my family, even the smallest in between moments. Capturing memories has always come naturally to me.

But it was not until 2023 when I got married that everything truly clicked. I did not have the budget for a content creator and it is something I still think about. That day was one of the last times all of my favorite people were in one place and I wish I had more of those candid organic moments preserved.

I had thought about starting a business like this before, but I lacked confidence. It was not until a trip to Tampa, specifically walking through Hyde Park, that something shifted. I felt inspired in a way I had not before, even down to the colors that later became my brand. On the drive home I stopped overthinking it. I came up with a name, created an Instagram, posted an introduction video, and just began.

I knew opportunities would not come easily at first so I created my own. A college friend was getting married in Dallas and I reached out and offered to capture her wedding for free so I could gain experience. I paid my own way, flew in, and filmed her entire wedding weekend from start to finish.

That experience changed everything for me. It confirmed this was not just an idea. It was what I was meant to do. Since that moment I have given this business everything I have, showing up every day with intention, creativity, and a deep love for preserving moments people never want to forget.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a perfectly smooth road, but I think that is very normal for most creatives building something from the ground up.

One of the biggest challenges for me has been time. I work a full time 40 hour job during the week, so I am primarily limited to weekend weddings, with the occasional weekday or holiday. That means my days are very full. I usually start early in the morning before work checking emails, responding to inquiries, and posting content. After work, I shift into editing, writing captions, building strategy, handling admin work, creating invoices and contracts, and staying connected with both potential and current brides. Then, on the weekends, I am working weddings and editing those weddings. There’s rarely a day off..

Another challenge has been building connections in a new place. I moved to an area where many people in this industry have lived their entire lives, so there is already a strong sense of community and established relationships. In a town where it feels like everybody knows everybody, I have had to be very intentional about putting myself out there, meeting new vendors, and creating relationships so that word of mouth can grow over time.

Even with those challenges, I have seen so much growth. I have built incredible vendor relationships and had the honor of working with brides who then refer me to their friends and even their bridal parties. It has taken time, consistency, and a lot of effort behind the scenes, but it has also been one of the most rewarding learning experiences of my career.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My business is part of a newer, very niche but fast growing space in the wedding industry known as wedding content creation. I specialize in capturing weddings and anything surrounding them, including rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, bridal showers, bachelorette trips, honeymoons, and also wedding adjacent events for vendors such as behind the scenes content for their businesses.

If I am looking at social media, I would say I am known for capturing a mix of really funny, candid moments alongside deeply sentimental ones that often resonate and sometimes even go viral. But when it comes to my brides, I hope I am known for being a bubbly yet calming presence on their wedding day. My goal is always to allow them to put their phones down, feel fully present, and trust that every meaningful moment, big or small, is being captured.

One of the things I am most proud of is the relationships I have built with my clients. I truly care about each and every one of them, and I remember their wedding days in such vivid detail. It means so much to me that in such a short time in business, I have been able to connect with so many brides and turn those experiences into genuine friendships.

What sets me apart is that I approach each wedding day as if I am the bride, always thinking ahead about what moments they will want to remember later. I do not just show up, capture content, and leave. I step into whatever role is needed in the moment, whether that is wiping tears, carrying a veil, helping deliver a vow book, or simply making sure things run smoothly. My role goes beyond content creation. I want to be a calming, helpful presence so the entire day feels more supported, more intentional, and more memorable.

What were you like growing up?
I actually love this question because I feel like I am still so much like my younger self, even though I have also grown and evolved so much over time.

Growing up, I was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. I loved being around people, I loved being involved, and yes I definitely loved being the center of attention. At the same time, I have always had a strong creative side. I was involved in music, choir, band, theater, photography, and really anything artistic I could get my hands on. Creativity has always been a huge part of who I am.

I was also very chatty as a kid and honestly still am today. I thrive in social settings and being around others, but I also really value and need my alone time to recharge. That balance has always been part of my personality.

I have always loved movies and especially anything musical, from High School Musical to Burlesque. I was the kind of kid who would watch the same scenes over and over because I loved the performance and storytelling.

Another consistent part of who I have always been is loyalty. My friends have always been incredibly important to me, and I have always been the person who shows up for the people I care about.

I have also always loved events and celebrations. Birthdays, bridal showers, weddings, anything where I could plan, organize, or create something special really excited me. If there was a chance to make an invitation or take charge of planning something, I was all in.

I have always been drawn to the way details come together to create something beautiful, and I think that is a big reason I love weddings so much now. They all start from a similar foundation, but each one is uniquely shaped by every couple’s story, vision, and personality.
