Community Highlights: Meet Heather Lorenz of PartyBay Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Lorenz.

Hi Heather, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had an eye for design, and desire to do something that would make people happy! I discovered my talent for event planning back in high school. I was involved in many extracurricular groups that gave me the opportunity to plan fundraisers, pep rallies, and even homecoming! Fast forward to now, I finally decided it was time to start my own company. Two things that set me apart are affordability and sustainability. I believe in fair and flexible pricing to fit any budget, along with using sustainable decor, including reusable balloons! I love using my creativity and organizational skills to help create lasting memories for my clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had contemplated starting my business for years… but what really gave me that final push was getting laid off from my marketing job. I literally started this company with no money… just a dream! I ended up acquiring a business coach who really held my hand in getting everything set up properly. Once I had the legal documents and accounting side of things figured out, I hit the ground running! It’s still scary being a solo entrepreneur, but luckily I have a great network of powerful women around me that push me to keep going!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I absolutely love Tampa Bay, and wanted to pay tribute to the area with my business name! Hence PartyBay was born. I offer a wide range of event services! On the social side, I plan things such as birthdays, bachelorettes, baby showers, and graduations. On the corporate side, I plan things such as grand openings, anniversary celebrations, retirement parties, and company retreats. Additionally, I offer content creation, personal styling, logo design, and more! What makes me unique is my ability to customize anything to fit your budget and vision. I want my services to be accessible to anyone looking to elevate their celebrations!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a total nerd growing up. I was in all advanced classes, and held many leadership positions in extracurricular clubs! My favorite was being Vice President of Student Council, which gave me the opportunity to plan really cool events. I was the first student to solely plan our seasonal pep rallies! I was able to completely change the dynamic of how they operated, making for a more fun and interactive experience. Having the ability to create a lasting memory for 2,000 students at the same time was life changing for me! All the stress and hard work I put into these events always paid off, giving me a sense of self-worth. This concept remains true to this day, hence why I love what I do!
