Conversations with Amanda Cureton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Cureton.

Hi Amanda , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started in photography because it was the one creative outlet I always came back to. From a young age, I was drawn to taking photos, noticing details, and capturing moments in a way that felt meaningful. It was something I loved before I ever knew exactly where it would lead.

Over time, photography became more than a passion. It became something I believed I could build a life and business around. I started by exploring different areas of photography, including lifestyle and weddings, which taught me so much about storytelling, emotion, people, and the details that make an image feel intentional.

As I grew, I realized I was especially drawn to food, products, and hospitality. I loved the way photography could help a brand communicate not just what something looks like, but how it feels. That eventually led me to create Creative Thinking 4U Photography, where I now work with restaurants, hotels, hospitality brands, and creative businesses to bring their visions to life through intentional imagery.

I got to where I am today through hard work, self-driven learning, discipline, and believing in the vision before I could fully see the results. I’ve always believed that what you commit to for a season can shape your life for years, and that mindset has carried me through so much of my journey.

One of the biggest reasons I love what I do is because I get to be part of helping others build something they care about. There’s a lot of purpose in that for me. Photography has given me a way to combine creativity, connection, and service, and there’s no better feeling than helping someone else feel proud of what they’re bringing to life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest obstacles has been learning how to keep going through seasons of uncertainty. Building a business asks you to believe in something before the results are fully in front of you, and that can be really challenging.

There have been times where I knew I was growing, I knew my work had value, and I knew I was capable, but I still had to sit in the unknown. I had to keep showing up, keep learning, keep reaching out, and keep trusting that the effort I was putting in would eventually create momentum.

A big part of the struggle has been learning how to back myself, especially as someone who has had to figure a lot out on my own. I’ve had to work through fear, self-doubt, and the pressure of wanting to do things well while still giving myself permission to grow.

But those seasons have also shaped me. They taught me discipline, resilience, and how much can happen when you stay committed even when things feel unclear. I’ve learned that confidence does not always come before the action. Sometimes confidence is built because you keep taking the next step.

Looking back, I’m proud of the way I kept going. The uncertainty, the hard work, and the behind-the-scenes growth all became part of the foundation of Creative Thinking 4U Photography. They helped me become not only a stronger photographer, but a stronger business owner and creative partner for the brands I work with.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I run a photography business specializing in the hospitality industry, creating imagery for restaurants, hotels, and experience-driven brands. My work is often known for bright, bold, colorful visuals, but I also create moody, intentional lifestyle imagery that supports strong branding and tells a deeper story. I’m most proud of seeing how much my work has grown over the years, not just creatively, but in the way it has allowed me to connect with people and support what they’re building.

What sets me apart is that I approach each project as a creative partner, not just someone showing up to take photos. I care about understanding the brand, the guest experience, and the intention behind what my clients are building.

From there, I create imagery that feels elevated, purposeful, and true to the experience they want people to connect with.

Any big plans?
A big goal for me is to continue growing into larger hospitality projects and creative partnerships with brands that care deeply about their guest experience. I want my work to keep creating meaningful opportunities, both for my own business and for the people and brands I get to support.
