Cheri, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I didn’t arrive here polished. I arrived here proven.
I grew up in poverty (the oldest of six children) and walked through loss after loss — my father, mother, my 14 year old son, my little sister, and more. I’ve endured substance abuse, domestic violence, and a host of other battles that could have silenced me. Instead, every hardship became an altar of resilience — living proof that God can turn brokenness into blueprints for greatness.
For over two decades, I’ve partnered with legends like Sidney Poitier, visionaries like Bishop T.D. Jakes, and powerhouses like Verizon and the A.M.E. Church. My work has been featured on FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, and Roku.
But my true legacy isn’t in the stages I’ve stood on or the icons I’ve worked with.
It’s in the leaders (underdogs) I’ve reset — those who walked in exhausted and left awakened, no longer performing for applause but commissioned for God-Led Greatness™.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I grew up in poverty (the oldest of six children) and walked through loss after loss — my father, mother, my 14 year old son, my little sister, and more. My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer at 30 years old. My daughter Dallas had major heart surgery at 2 years old. After spending every penny I saved to open my own ad agency in my hometown, days after completing renovations the floor physically fell in. I’ve also endured substance abuse, domestic violence, and a host of other battles that could have silenced me – but didn’t.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Family is everything to me, so our family Christmas Eve parties were always filled with love, music, and food. We have lost so many family members this tradition has since stopped but I really do miss it.
