Daily Inspiration: Meet Jena Robidas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jena Robidas.

Hi Jena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Meet Jena Robidas: The Voice and Vision Behind FM Station FLA
When Jena Robidas takes the stage, it’s not just a concert—it’s an experience. As the owner and lead singer of FM Station FLA, LLC .Jena has built one of Southwest Florida’s most dynamic entertainment brands, dedicated to bringing the magic of the 80s back to life through live music, visuals, and unforgettable energy.
Born and raised in NYC, Jena spent over 20 years performing in New York City’s vibrant music scene before trading the city lights for Florida’s sunsets. “New York taught me everything about stage presence, hustle, and connecting with people,” she says. “But when I came to Southwest Florida almost five years ago, I wanted to build something that combined all of that—with heart, nostalgia, and purpose.”
That “something” became FM Station FLA, an entertainment company that’s much more than a band. Known for their authentic 80s sound, high-energy shows, and vibrant visual production, FM Station FLA takes audiences on a full-sensory trip back in time. One of their signature features is their curated 80s video show, blending classic MTV-style footage, rare clips, and vintage memories that play alongside the live band—creating a one-of-a-kind experience that’s both nostalgic and electric.
But what truly sets FM Station FLA apart is Jena’s dedication to giving back. The band actively supports local charities and causes, performing at events for veterans, breast cancer awareness, and other community fundraisers across the region. “Music brings people together,” Jena says. “If we can use what we do to lift spirits, raise awareness, and help others—it makes it all even more meaningful.”
As a performer, Jena brings her powerhouse vocals and magnetic stage presence to every show. As an entrepreneur, she’s built FM Station FLA into a full-scale entertainment company that produces themed events, community shows, and private performances all over Florida.
“FM Station isn’t just about music—it’s about memories,” she says. “When people come to our shows, they laugh, they dance, they relive the best moments of their lives. That’s what keeps me going.” We were very excited that after only a year in action we won 2025 Best Live Entertainment Award in the North Port Sun.
Looking ahead, Jena has big plans for FM Station FLA’s growth—including expanding their event production side and launching more charitable collaborations. “We’re only getting started,” she says with a smile. “The 80s never died—they just needed the right frequency to come alive again.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. “There’s a lot of great talent that I have deep respect for in Southwest Florida,” Jena admits. “So breaking into the scene here takes time, patience, and persistence. A lot of bands already have deep roots and loyal followings, so winning people over and earning that same trust takes work—and heart.”
Building relationships with venues and club owners has been another learning curve. “It’s not easy gaining trust in a tight-knit music scene,” she says. “You have to prove yourself, show up consistently, and bring something fresh every time. That’s how you earn respect.”
Then there’s the business side—something many artists don’t see coming. “We’ve had issues with trademark rights and others using our name,” Jena explains. “It’s frustrating, but it also pushed me to protect what I built and learn more about the business side of music.”
Through it all, she’s never lost her humor or her hustle. “Some nights I’m out there under stage lights in leather pants—in July—in Florida,” she laughs. “It’s literally sweat, but it’s worth every drop. Because when you see a crowd singing along, dancing, and reliving their best memories—you remember exactly why you do it.”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
FM Station FLA isn’t just a band — we’re a full-scale entertainment company built around the music, fashion, and spirit of the 1980s. We recreate the entire experience of that unforgettable era — not just through live music, but through visuals, atmosphere, and connection.
We perform the biggest and often the forgotten 80s hits with authenticity and energy, but what makes us truly different is our immersive approach. Every show includes a curated 80s video experience — real MTV-style footage, commercials, movie clips, and pop-culture moments playing alongside the band. We give out props , bring people on stage , blast bubble machines ,encourage folks to dress 80s style and it turns every performance into a live time capsule of fun !
We also tailor our shows for all kinds of audiences — from clubs and festivals to private events and charity fundraisers. Our goal is to bring people together through nostalgia, fun, and positivity.
But the heart of what sets us apart is the emotion behind it. We don’t just play songs — we connect people to memories. Whether someone grew up in the 80s or just loves the music, they leave our shows feeling like they’ve relived a part of their own story.
On top of that, we’re proud to use our platform to give back. We perform at charity events because making a difference through music is what truly drives us.
At the end of the day, FM Station FLA is about more than entertainment — it’s about experience, nostalgia, and heart.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
This will sound silly but hydrate , hydrate then hydrate again ! Performing in Florida heat is not for the weak lol!

When I look back on this journey, I realize I’ve learned more than I ever expected — not just about music or business, but about people and purpose.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that age is just a number. I absolutely love seeing seniors here in Florida living their best life at our shows — dancing, smiling, singing every word like it’s 1985 again. I call them “senagers” It reminds me that joy and music never expire. Energy and passion don’t belong to one generation; they belong to anyone brave enough to feel them.
I’ve also learned that respect goes a long way — respect for your craft, your bandmates, other performers, and the venues that open their doors to you. The music scene thrives when there’s mutual support and professionalism, and that’s something I try to bring to every performance and every interaction.
Another thing that’s really touched me is how strong and compassionate the Florida community truly is. Coming from New York City, I didn’t know what to expect — but I’ve seen firsthand how people here come together when someone’s in need. Whether it’s supporting a cause or helping neighbors after a storm, there’s this deep sense of togetherness that’s unlike anywhere else I’ve lived.
Being able to contribute to that through FM Station FLA means everything to me. Music is our way of giving back — and if our shows can bring people joy, hope, and connection, then I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
