Exploring Life & Business with Sheryl Sashin of Arabesque of Naples

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheryl Sashin.

Hi Sheryl, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Although I cannot draw, I always had a good eye and creative talent for design.

It was a winding road that brought me to opening Arabesque of Naples almost 26 years ago.
Starting with a degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania,
to managing a cooking school, to becoming a manufacturing sales representative
for high end gift and stationery lines in Connecticut, then a move to Naples, Florida
where I opened my dream store – Arabesque of Naples – and have the joy of sharing
all my passions for paper, fine writing instruments and unique gifts.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, and most enjoyable and rewarding.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Owner and Buyer and Head Designer at Arabesque of Naples.

I am very proud of our 5 star reputation, long time loyal clients, and strong relationships with many of our high end vendors with lines that are exclusive to Arabesque of Naples. For example, David Oscarson, whose timeless, creative writing instruments are treasures to be handed down from one generation to the next.

Our knowledgeable staff and excellent resources allow us to create an endless variety of looks and work at a large
variety of price points. We are also accustomed to working long distance and can provide sample papers and color simulated proofs.

Our tagline is “luxurious necessities and irresistible indulgences”.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
How not to be stagnant – always trust my creative sense and be open to new ideas
