Hi Jacqueline, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my sugaring business, “Skin Organics” because I wanted to focus on using natural ingredients and mindful practices to support healthy skin. With a passion for organic living, discovering sugaring felt like the perfect fit. I love that it’s gentle on the skin, non-invasive, and made with simple ingredients: just sugar, lemon and water.
In 2021, I traded cornfields for palm trees and moved from Iowa to sunny Southwest FL, knowing this would be the perfect place for my business to thrive. I wanted to bring a natural, spa-like experience to a community that loves wellness and sunshine as much as I do. Hair removal can be an uncomfortable, anxiety filled experience, so I strive to create an environment where clients leave not only smooth, but truly pampered.
I’ve been practicing sugaring for the past eight years and as my business grows, I’m excited to share this natural, effective method with even more people. It’s my passion to help clients feel confident and cared for and I can’t wait to bring the benefits of sugaring to everyone who walks through my doors!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of biggest business challenges has been raising awareness about sugaring and helping people understand how it’s different from waxing. It’s still new to many, so educating clients has been key. I’ve also been working on building a stronger social media presence, which is so important for growth, but feels like a job in itself! Juggling between wearing the hats of entrepreneur, sugarist, head of household, and mom has been the most challenging personally! Some days I feel like a solo orchestra making everything work in harmony!
