Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorna Bluestein.
Hi Lorna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I opened my Studio Art business in 2018. Having an art degree and teching experience, I wanted a place for people to come and enjoy themselves through creativity. I offer an open Studio, 12-5 pm for those wanting to walk in and create, where I will be in the studio to guide and assist. The Art Studio / Gallery consists of my art using many mediums to reach a variey of interests. In addition, I schedule workshops, private lessons, and private events in the off hours of 10 am-12 & 6-8 pm. My studio offers a relaxed environment with positive vibes and reaches out to a variety of ages and skill levels.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My first two years were rough, but I made it through. Business is good. I just keep getting new ideas to keep my customers engaged.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have a BA in Arts & Sciences from Indiana University. I taught High school Art. I now teach acrylic painting, alcohol ink, Fluid Art, Resin art, Embellishments, Texture art, decopodge & more! Fluid painting charcuterie boards and lazy susans are popular.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Stick with it and don’t give up. Do your own thing and don’t worry about competition.
