Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Eugenio Carrasquero.
Hi Jose Eugenio, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have 39 years of experience as an employee of prestigious companies in my country Venezuela. I started very young after obtaining my first professional degree at just 20 years old, successfully performing from analyst positions until I became Director of multiple areas such as Auditing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance and Marketing, and although I always made a stable career of promotion in each company where I was hired, thanks to my commitment, delivery, study, and after unfortunately came…… the exit……., the closure…… resignation….., dismissal……
Given my need to search in moments of personal and professional reflection, in 2007 I started a Master’s Degree in Organizational Psychology under the approach of Gestalt Theory, which in addition to offering me a personal and professional tool, made me born again in consciousness and in the way of being in life.
The study of Gestalt was a journey for more than 3 years along a path of learning and new and surprising relationships with inspiring people, both from my desire to learn and also from my passion for teaching others, teaching by the way always focused on getting it inspired by the person from the consciousness and their energy field.
By the way, I personally prefer to feel like an anonymous hero, where the person to whom I facilitate a learning feels that his new state of consciousness is unique, without heroes who have saved him or helped him in his personal process.
Then came the opportunity to experience myself successfully as a consultant in the business field, and live the wonder of converging the knowledge and experiences of my life before Gestalt, with the magic of the field of totality, of the psychological, systemic, phenomenological and/or energetic senses, to nourish the individual or personal, group and work teams.
Given the need to seek economic independence, after the arrival of the 2020 pandemic, and my last position as CEO of a conglomerate of leather and footwear companies, where we unfortunately had to close operations, given the pandemic plus the changes in market trends, and taking advantage of my “SER” consultant and my passion for what is naturally green and organic, I did a diploma in planting products under controlled environments and plant physiology.
In line with the previous idea, firstly, I developed as a consultant a brand called – A Space for the Entrepreneur – whose philosophy is to accompany and widely support the entrepreneur in the successful evolution of his dream of entrepreneurship, from his first steps to his consolidation as an entrepreneur. Its value proposition is essentially to accompany the entrepreneur to his success and integrate his personal life, the professional and as a productively active individual, under a humanistic and existential approach, with the novelty of offering a professional and personal accompaniment service, which integrates and synchronizes the assistance or advice to the Human Being – Emotional Entity – Entrepreneur – together with professional tools, strategic and organizational of high business and industrial impact of multinational and family companies.
The truth is that – A Space for the Entrepreneur – I personally inspired him to support and develop two successful ventures in Venezuela, using my skills, professional and personal skills acquired in my life:
The first venture was Mas Green & Natural (@masgreenynatural), which consisted of the production and marketing of microgreens, planted with organic seeds, without genetic modifications of different varieties of vegetables such as arugula, sunflower, fennel, mixed salad, basil, mustard, cabbage, beetroot, parsley, etc.; in short, a wide variety of microgreens aimed at renowned chefs and restaurants, and the general public who want to consume healthy and organic.
The wonderful thing about this venture was to combine the art and magic of planting in a controlled environment, 100% organic without inorganic pesticides, and go through germination, growth of stems and finely achieve wonderful colors and nutritious products of great sensation and impact on the consumer’s palate.
This venture managed to captivate a new market in my country Venezuela, unknown until that moment, which we started in January 2021, and we managed to consolidate wonderful customers eager to receive these high nutrition and beauty products in view of the consumer.
The third venture arose in September 2021, which consisted of developing an import company (Green Pine Product Services – @granoro.vzla) from Italy healthy products, from ingredients produced without raw materials with GMOs, healthy and of great quality and nutritional value, achieving a clientele of more than 50 establishments in the center of the country, large supermarket chains, as well as medium and small establishments selling healthy foods.
The exciting thing was to develop an economic unit of great economic value, in financial performance, with a cost structure and price establishment strategy, managing to market with highly attractive prices for both the retailer and the final consumer.
In June 2024, we decided to come to the United States together with my spouse and 12-year-old son; despite achieving successful achievements as an entrepreneur in Venezuela, the political and economic situation of the country limited us from offering our son what we received in the past in education, health and quality of life in Venezuela. which I am sure that this great country will be able to help us achieve, offering in turn to this great nation the best of us.
Now I have the great challenge, at 59 years of age, to start again.
In Gestalt theory, the expansion of organic and healthy consciousness, there is the need to close and open new cycles, I have to close the cycles of my past ventures to open new ventures, and so it will be…. Here we go….
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Great difficulties have arisen. The first thing was to be able to act differently from what I saw in my childhood and youth in Venezuela.
That country of my parents was a country where being employed by the government or private transnational companies guaranteed a future and peaceful retirements. From a very young age I wanted to act like my grandparents, they were entrepreneurs and businessmen, it was at that time a rural non-oil Venezuela.
As I pointed out before, after 39 years of experience as an employee, and performing successfully, and although I always made a stable career of promotion in each company where I was hired, given my commitment, dedication, study, etc., unfortunately came: the exit……., the closure,…… resignation….., dismissal…… it is natural. That is why it is necessary and very important to have a plan B, and that plan in my opinion is to be an entrepreneur.
Now, as an entrepreneur, the struggles that arise day by day, among others no less important, we find: fear, stagnation, loneliness, stress, tiredness, the need to differentiate yourself from others, to demonstrate the sustainability and economic permanence of the enterprise, the cash and working capital needs, to determine the break-even point of the enterprise, have a financing plan according to their medium and long-term strategy, the need to declare and write the values that drive their enterprise, balance work with personal or family life, etc.
The above are battles that must be fought to walk towards the fullness of personal success.
Finally, a great struggle was to consolidate entrepreneurial companies in a country without a stable political system that supports the entrepreneur; Courage and persistence were key in an environment full of emptiness and hostility.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In tune with everything I already mentioned, my potential store: it is experience: my food: it is learning; my motor or conscious function: it is my “BEING”; that is, experience and continuous training are the ingredients that drive my energy to achieve my goals.
As a counselor, I specialize in driving the successful evolution of personal and organizational processes.
I am affectionately known to many as the “BOSS”, I think I earned that thanks to my ways of balancing the different leadership styles from love: directive, persuasive, and supportive to finally achieve delegation. I have always excelled in transmitting all my knowledge to others. I am clear about something, we human beings come to recreate what God has already created, therefore, what I can transmit today to others from my humble position, I am paying back.
My greatest pride is the deep love I feel for Jesus Christ, who is my guide.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Yes, definitely. In the first place, my Lord Jesus has been my essential guide and support.
My parents were the base, the structure of love, they gave me life and I will always be grateful to them.
Now in business, there are few who were my mentors and many of whom I have had support. In this sense, the love I have received to support my projects has been wonderful and there will be no way to forget it and to thank them always.
