Today we’d like to introduce you to Keno.
Hi Keno, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well a lot has changed since my last interview with Voyage. Before I was creating custom apparel and dabbling in photography, now I fully focus on creating fun memorable photoshoots for people! I still have some loyal supporters I make apparel for, but I no longer promote it. Photography has been a nice hobby and side business for me. It’s a great way for me to network and meet new creatives in Tampa.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing is ever a smooth road when growth is involved. Countless money and time wasted but that is apart of the process. Getting your name out there, trusting individuals you don’t know, getting stood up or canceled on. It happened and will continue to happen. Just have to grow and adjust with the times along with putting necessary processes in place and protect your peace.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Shipping Manager for a resource company and a Photography/Creative here in Tampa. I specialize in headshots and portrait photography as well as creating marketing material. I am proud to see the satisfied customers. It’s gratifying seeing someone who was nervous or hard on themselves shed a tear of joy after seeing their photos. Establishing a connection through fun and laughter always makes the photoshoot an experience!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I am originally from Chicago and then moved to NW Indiana for High School. When I visited Tampa back in 2010, I fell in love with the city. The weather, the beaches, and how it wasn’t as busy as a big city like Chicago. To me it was the perfect in-between to a Miami or Orlando. I met some pretty great people that I call my best friends to this day! Unfortunately, lots of others had the same idea because now Tampa seems over crowded and traffic is as bad as Chicago. The night life isn’t as prominent as it was due to a lot of clubs and promotions closing. I do like the expansion of new restaurants that are now available. Lots and lots of restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines and atmospheres. I’m here for it!
