Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Cash.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began in 1987 as a hospital nurse in oncology having graduated with a bachelor’s of science in nursing as well as a bachelor’s in English literature. I achieved my masters in nursing in 1992 and continued to work in a hospital setting as a clinical nurse specialist then a advanced registered nurse practitioner until 2000. I maintained primarily oncology work experience, publishing medical articles and speaking engagements throughout the U.S. until approximately 2008/2009 at which time I transitioned into medical aesthetics as an independent contractor nurse practitioner performing aesthetic injectables and Laser therapy. I continue in this field to this day, have lectured regarding my practice, and have been fortunate that the majority of my patients have followed me to my new location,Elase MedSpa,as of 2025 ,when my last work location unfortunately closed due to Hurricane Milton at the end of 2024. I have always continued my education in my practicing field as much as possible to keep abreast of all new therapies and treatments. Patient-centered care has always been my goal and I am happy to continue it to this day making my patient care personal and individual and tailored to each persons goals.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Transitioning from medical surgical and radiation oncology to the field of medical aesthetics was a little tenuous in that this newer field was not as developed as it is today. There were views that I had stepped down or taken an inferior position however I felt that every patient in every clinical setting deserved the respect, attention to detail and a listening ear no matter what their reason for being there. Interestingly I still continue to treat oncology patients post treatment for their side effects due to their chemotherapy and or radiation treatments which is very fulfilling and I have a closer knowledge of what they went through due to my oncology nursing experience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am best known for having a conservative “natural” approach to medical aesthetics striving for enhancing their best attributes while giving them more confidence in their appearance. This is a field that has many exaggerated poor outcomes and I knew I did not want to be associated with anything of that nature. My patients are happy, consistent with their treatments, and quite a few of them long time friends upwards of 15 plus years. I feel passionate about giving them a healthier appearance of their skin, especially living in Florida with a considerable amount of sun damage evident, while at the same time the ability to educate about skin cancer prevention.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I was a baller dancer until the age of 25 and seriously considered pursuing it as my career.
