Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Capuano.
Hi Shannon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been obsessed with learning about health for about 17 years now. I read every book I could get my hands on, tried all the things, but I never really understood how everything fit together—how the body actually works as a whole system.
For a long time, I ran an Etsy shop (for about 10 years!) while raising our four kids. But as they started getting older and didn’t need me quite as much, I felt that pull to go deeper. Around that same time, my son went through a three-month health journey that left us with more questions than answers. The Western medical system couldn’t give us much direction, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and dive in.
I’ve always been the one asking “why?”—especially when it comes to health. Why are these symptoms happening? What’s the body trying to say? That curiosity led me to a program I completely fell in love with, and honestly, I’ve never looked back.
Now, I get to walk alongside people on their own healing journeys, and watching their lives transform never stops being the best part of what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Such a good question! Honestly… no, it hasn’t been smooth. For some reason, I thought that once I graduated, people would just find me. Like, “I love Functional Medicine—why wouldn’t everyone else?” 😅
But I quickly learned that not everyone is ready to step outside the Western medical system. Some people just aren’t there yet, and others simply don’t know much about holistic health. And that’s okay.
For the ones who are curious — the ones who feel unheard, tired of just being handed a pill, or who simply want to try something more natural — those are my people. I love showing them there’s another way.
I’ll be honest, I’m not naturally a sales person. Putting yourself out there takes effort, and it’s uncomfortable at times. But it’s part of building something meaningful. Hiring a business coach was one of the best decisions I’ve made — huge shoutout to CCI if anyone’s looking for a good one! 🙌
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Shannon Capuano Wellness?
At Shannon Capuano Wellness, I help women get to the root of what’s really going on in their bodies — not just manage symptoms. I specialize in Functional Medicine and root-cause health coaching, focusing on hormones, gut health, minerals, and the deeper connections between stress, lifestyle, and how the body actually functions.
Most of my clients come to me after years of not feeling heard in the traditional medical system. They’ve been told their labs are “normal,” even though they still feel off — exhausted, bloated, anxious, or struggling with hormones that feel all over the place. That’s where I come in. Together, we look at functional lab testing, nutrition, and daily habits to uncover what their body’s been trying to tell them all along.
What sets my work apart is how personal and educational the process is. I don’t hand out cookie-cutter protocols. Every plan is tailored to the person in front of me — their story, their labs, their life. My goal is to help people understand why their symptoms are happening and how to restore balance naturally.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community and trust that’s been built around this work. It’s not just about “fixing” health issues — it’s about teaching people to feel empowered, informed, and confident in their own healing journey.
Whether someone comes to me for one-on-one coaching, a masterclass, or one of my functional health guides, I want them to feel like they finally have someone in their corner — someone who listens, educates, and genuinely cares.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
This made me tear up. I would say anything having to do with my dad. He died tragically but left behind so many great memories for me to hold on to.
I grew up camping, fishing, white water rafting, skiing, shooting guns, climbing huge rocks and jumping off bridges and laughing until we cried.
My dad instilled a love of nature into me that I will carry for the rest of my life and now I try to share that with my 4 children.
