Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Nitsche.
Hi Eric, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I retired from the Trade Show Industry after 32 years in 2017 at 55. At the time my mother was sick and i was taking care of her. I lasted about 3 months when my wife said why don’t I get a part time job. She then suggested I buy my friends golf shop in the flea market that was open Fri-Sun. I ended up buying the shop. 2 years later a store front became available and I moved the golf shop in there. I put a lot of money into redoing the store and advertising. Things were going well till Covid hit and I was required by the state to shut down for 8 weeks. In the meantime I delivered groceries for Shipt at the time. This help pay the bills of the investment I put into the golf shop. When I was able to open back up, we slowly started getting more customers. With word of mouth and social media, I was able to build the business doing better every year.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been easy:
Having to learn the retail industry
Having to learn how to use marketing to your customer audience
Learning marketing- educating your customers on new location
Covid 19

Dealing with employees, customers and clients. No reason to ever take a hard stance on anything. Always work with people to get your best results.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see steady growth. More and more younger people are taking up golf. Yes it seams more golf courses are closing to developers to build on.
