Jennifer, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
In truth, I want them all. If I had to choose one, it would be integrity. Intelligence and energy mean little if your intentions are poor.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Modern-Wealth is a financial advisory firm dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate major life transitions. We specialize in two key areas: business transitions and women in transition. Whether you are experiencing the loss of a spouse, a divorce, or the purchase or sale of a business, we help you strategize, streamline, and optimize your financial and tax situation—guiding you confidently through the transition and onto the other side.
We endeavor to empower and support clients as they make intentional financial decisions that strengthen both their wealth and their legacy.
We are a boutique, independent advisory firm working through Cambridge Investment Research. As Accredited Investment Fiduciaries (AIF®), we specialize in guiding clients through life’s pivotal transitions. We partner with industry leaders to deliver tailored strategies that align values, tax efficiency, and legacy.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Hands down, my father was my greatest influence. As a first-generation American, he shaped much of who I am today.
He taught me that the early bird gets the worm—and that you can do and have anything you want if you’re willing to work for it and work smarter, not harder.
He instilled in me resilience, integrity, and a drive to never settle. To him, effort and excellence were never optional, and resting on your laurels simply wasn’t an option. He also taught me resilience, integrity, and hustle—and to always trust my gut. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. He believed that if you can live with your actions and decisions, you’ll rest easy at night.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me determination, resilience, and—most importantly—how to pause. I’m not someone who pauses easily, but sometimes life hits you in the back of the head with a two-by-four, and you realize you need to sit down.
Taking that seat, giving yourself grace, and allowing a moment to recalibrate isn’t something that comes naturally when everything’s going your way. But sometimes, you need that universal shove to pause, regroup, and reframe your intention, your path, and your process.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My nieces and nephews are my greatest joy. The interactions and moments I like to call “Squeezing the Juice” are essential to who I am. I’ve always identified as Aunt Jenn first—before businesswoman, partner, daughter, sister, or boss. What fills me most are the “littles,” who aren’t so little anymore—the youngest being 15-year-old twins. They remind me of what truly matters: connection, presence, and love in motion.
In 2024, I had a true mic-drop moment. My 21-year-old niece called and asked if I would come to Europe to travel with her during her 10-day break from her job as an au pair in Italy. My answer was a resounding yes! Sometimes life hands you an invitation you simply don’t overthink—you just say yes and pack your bag.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that money is a tool—a vehicle that, when leveraged efficiently and guided by experience and expertise, can open doors to meaningful life experiences. It can support your passions, reflect your values, nurture your family, and fuel your joy. And ultimately, it can create legacy.
