Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Loren.
Hi Mark, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally from Chicago I moved to Fort Myers with the company I was working for up North. Started my own jewelry repair trade shop to do work for other jewelers in 1985 and grew that business into 15 accounts across SWFL. Opened our first retail gallery one year later and grew to 3
Locations before selling off the other galleries and concentrating on our main Fort Myers location. We have survived and thrived through numerous economic downturns, COVID and internet pressures. We have won over a dozen international jewelry design awards and I’m often giving seminars within the jewelry trade and just got back from Italy guest instructing at the oldest goldsmithing school in Florence.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Economic downturns, managing cash flow, managing rising insurance premiums and retaining a talented , loyal staff have been challenges as well as huge successes
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in award-winning custom jewelry designs direct to our wonderful clientele as well as offer exceptional jewelry repair and heirloom restoration services.
We are known in our community for our huge support of multiple charities and organizations that work to make our community a better place for everyone.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have taken many risks over the years and the biggest one was just starting my business without knowing all the “right” things.to do. Trusting my intuition when many in the jewelry industry were moving forward like sheep had kept us in the forefront of dramatic, unique designs and deeply loyal client relationships. I always knew you had to climb out on the skinniest branches to get to the sweetest fruit. Having strong, loyal community partners ( bankers, CPA, attorneys , marketing experts)) has been one of the foundations of our success.
