Regan Weiss of Tampa Bay on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Regan Weiss. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Regan, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Traditionally when it comes to business, I believe in speed of implementation, but as of recently because of my position in the world, and in the business world, not everyone will agree and social media attacks will come. I have found that sitting on a response is much more impactful and that no response is much more impactful. It has blessed me in many ways.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

What began as a grassroots initiative has quickly transformed into a scalable model with national reach. By teaching leaders how to market with transparency, build omnipresence, and collaborate authentically, Regan Weiss and Jordan Lung have created a tested framework that any community in America can adopt to stimulate both cultural and financial growth. The Tampa pilot wasn’t just proof of concept; it was proof of impact.
In an era where marketing is often reduced to transactions and “pay-to-play” schemes, two entrepreneurs are rewriting the rules of collaboration. Regan Weiss and Jordan Lung, co-founders of The HUB Network, are spearheading a national movement designed to restore trust, authenticity, and impact to the way businesses grow.

The foundation for this movement was laid in Tampa, Florida, where the HUB concept first proved its value. In Tampa, Weiss and Lung built a thriving ecosystem that now serves as the model for replication nationwide. Their network connects hundreds of local businesses, generates measurable results, and has already redirected millions of dollars back into the local economy. From restaurants and service providers to high-growth startups, HUB Tampa has demonstrated what can happen when businesses choose collaboration over competition.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a guy that was told I wasn’t going to go very far in life because I did not listen to the rules in school… I had a very hard time with Authority, but I just knew that what they were teaching us in school. I would not take into the real life. I didn’t know what it was, but it was always on my heart. It was always on my mind that everything that was being taught me was irrelevant…. Even when I got to college, which I barely did…. And quite frankly, the only reason I got to college was to play football. My father would say I don’t think you’re gonna end up getting a degree but what you’re going to get is a bunch of life lessons out of this college. And although I never got that piece of paper, I did receive a championship ring in football and so many memories.. I made relationships that lasted a lifetime.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Once I started telling everyone about my shortcomings and stopped hiding them, that’s when the growth really came in my life… I put out this persona that I’m this big strong guy on the outside, but the truth is I’m human like everybody else… can feel and have empathy. To be frank people still don’t see me as this person, they see me as the bravado. That’s good in some ways, but in many others, I would prefer people to realize that we are all not perfect. People make mistakes and people move forward… I don’t let mistakes to define me as a human. They are just learning lessons..

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe there is a showcase to every person, especially if you’re in sales and marketing people don’t want a blasé attitude or a person with zero energy… I believe there is always some type of showmanship in a sales world, especially if you’re a CEO of a company you have to have a strong presence. I think reading your audience is very important knowing your territory is very important and I also realize that sometimes you will never be a profit in your own land.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Unfortunately, there is a misinterpreted version of myself… creating this network has been a blessing, but there are many people out there that do not align with our vision of how business should be run. One of the things that we recognized later in the creation of the network was just removing people without giving them the reason of why we were removing them and that created animosity. So now we go through the process and we tell people that if they are being disc courteous, or if they are unlicensed or if they do not have insurance or if they are not a four-star rating that we remove them from the network because we cannot market people that have a substandard Service rating. We do this to protect the people not because we’re trying to favor our own trades. Many people think that we just favor the people that are friends that own businesses, but that is not the case and that will be a huge misunderstanding for years to come.
