We recently had the chance to connect with Jovannie Faricien and have shared our conversation below.
Jovannie , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Absolutely! When it came to opening my business it took many trials and errors. I feel like errors is what made my products better. I’ve definitely been glad I didn’t act fast. Sometimes the best decisions are the ones you take your time making.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
V-Forever Cosmetics was born out of my personal love for makeup especially lip gloss and the joy it brings when people feel truly beautiful in their own skin. I wanted to create a brand that celebrates that feeling for everyone, no matter your skin tone, gender, or background.
What makes V-Forever unique is our commitment to inclusivity and impact. Our formulas are cruelty-free, highly pigmented, and designed to pop on every skin shade because beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re going for a bold look or something subtle, our products are made to help you express yourself, unapologetically. We’re currently working on adding new products and different shades of lip gloss.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
For me, it’s the need for perfection. When I started V-Forever Cosmetics, I wanted everything to be flawless every product, every launch, every post. That drive pushed me to create high-quality formulas and a strong brand identity, and I’m grateful for it. But over time, I realized perfection can also hold you back. It can stop you from experimenting, innovating, and truly connecting with people.
Now, I’m letting go of that perfectionism and embracing progress, authenticity, and creativity instead. It’s opened up so much more freedom for us and for our customers.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are more than enough just as you are. Keep creating, keep dreaming, and stop shrinking to fit into spaces that were never meant for you.
Everything you love the lip glosses, the colors, the way makeup makes people feel seen all of it will lead you somewhere meaningful. Trust your voice, even when it shakes.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Honestly, I rely a lot on the ideas and feedback from my community the people who actually use V-Forever Cosmetics every day. From product suggestions to honest reviews, their voices guide so many of my decisions. I may have started the brand, but they help shape it.
Outside of that, I have close friends and family who’s always been my sounding board even before the business started. They have this way of seeing things clearly when I’m too in my head. Their ideas are grounded, honest, and always come from love, and that’s priceless when you’re building something you care deeply about.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could and I have. When I first started V-Forever Cosmetics, there were no guarantees, no applause, and no one telling me I was on the right path. But I kept going because I believed in what I was creating. I believed in the mission: to make everyone feel seen, beautiful, and confident in their skin.
Praise is beautiful, but purpose is better. And when you’re creating from a place of love — whether it’s a product, a brand, or just the way you show up in the world — the reward is knowing you stayed true to yourself.
