Hi Jean, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I founded Red Dot Multimedia in 2020 yes, right in the middle of the pandemic. Like many people, I was sent home in March 2020, not really knowing how serious things were going to get. It was a wake-up call. I realized that at any moment, life can change. At the time, I had a stable job working as a Creative Services Producer for a local news station in Fort Myers, but being stuck at home gave me the push I needed to follow my passion and take a risk.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The lockdown made me think about what I truly wanted in life. I had always loved storytelling, production, and helping businesses grow through creative media—but I also knew that starting a business would require more than just being good at what I already did. I had to learn everything from taxes and sales to marketing and client management. It was intimidating, but the desire to build something of my own outweighed the fear.
I officially launched Red Dot Multimedia in 2021. The first few years were challenging, like any new business. It took a lot of learning, trial and error, and persistence. But after about three years, I started to see the light—our client base grew, our brand became recognized locally, and the vision started to take shape.

We are a full-service multimedia production company, dedicated to serving Southwest Florida. What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Southwest Florida is the sense of community and creativity that’s constantly growing here. There’s this amazing mix of local pride and entrepreneurial spirit — everyone’s rooting for each other. The natural beauty of the area also inspires so much of my work. From the beaches and sunsets to the architecture and small businesses, there’s always something visually and emotionally inspiring about this region. It’s the perfect place to create and collaborate.
