Today we’d like to introduce you to Pearl Chiarenza.
Hi pearl, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey really began when I realized I was living my life by everyone else’s expectations such as wife, mom, volunteer, businesswoman, but somewhere along the way, I had lost me. In 2015, I took an identity and destiny course that made me pause and ask, Who am I outside of my titles? That was my wake-up call. A classmate challenged me to stop defining myself only by those roles, and I’ll never forget finding a small rock in my garden that became my anchor and my reminder that I could say ‘NO’ to others and ‘YES’ to myself.
That anchor became more than a symbol of boundaries, it became a lifeline. When our son Matt passed away suddenly, the SHERO principles I had been building gave me the strength to grieve, to honor his life, and to keep moving forward in resilience. Matt once told me how much he saw me grow, and carrying that with me has given me the courage to keep saying YES to life, even in heartbreak.
Over time, I became happier, more confident, and more at peace, and I knew I had to help other women find that same freedom. That’s why I created Women’s Successful Living and developed the SHERO Method, helping women become Stronger, Happier, Empowered, Radiant, and Original.
Now, through my coaching, retreats, books, and speaking, I get to guide women to set guilt-free boundaries, end the midnight worry cycles, and reclaim joy in their lives. My mission is simple: to remind women that life is too precious to live only for others, it’s time to say YES to you.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, my road hasn’t been smooth at all, but that’s also what makes my work so meaningful.
One of the deepest heartbreaks of my life was losing our son Matt in a tragic accident. He was the one who told me he’d seen me grow into the woman I’d become, and his passing could have broken me completely. Instead, the SHERO principles I had been living, saying ‘NO’ without guilt, creating healthy boundaries, and anchoring myself in self-care which became my lifeline through grief. They gave me a way to honor him by continuing to live fully, even with a broken heart.
Another challenge, which is hard for many people to talk about, was having to ‘divorce’ my own parents because of their narcissistic and gaslighting behaviors. It was a painful but necessary act of self-preservation. Walking away from toxic family dynamics taught me that boundaries are not about punishment; they’re about protection, healing, and creating space for your own growth. If I would not accept this behavior from my spouse why would I from my parents which is hard for others to understand because they are my “parents”. I did not pick them, God did and I will always love them.
Those experiences, losing a child and walking away from unhealthy family patterns, were the hardest things I’ve ever done. But they’re also why I’m so passionate about helping women reclaim their voices, heal from guilt, and build lives they love. I’m not teaching theory; I’m sharing practices that literally saved me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Women’s Successful Living, everything I do is built around one core truth: women deserve to live for themselves, not just for their titles or the roles others expect them to play. I help women step into their SHERO self, Stronger, Happier, Empowered, Radiant, and Original, so they can set guilt-free boundaries, end the midnight worry cycles, and reclaim their joy.
I specialize in coaching programs, transformational retreats, and practical tools that give women permission to say ‘YES’ to themselves. What sets me apart is that I don’t just teach self-care as a bubble bath or a weekend escape, I weave together mental fitness, boundary work, soulful practices, and real-life strategies to create lasting transformation.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our annual Soulful Self-Care PJ Retreat, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026. It’s unlike any other retreat, women arrive with no makeup, no titles, no masks. Just real women ready to release what no longer serves them, reset their intentions, and reclaim their voice. Over the years, women have left the retreat with the courage to start new businesses, leave toxic relationships, or simply find joy again in their daily lives.
Alongside coaching and retreats, I also speak on stages across the country, sharing my journey of breaking free from people-pleasing, overcoming toxic relationships, and finding resilience after the loss of my son, Matt. My talks are designed to inspire audiences to put themselves first, embrace their SHERO self, and live from a place of strength instead of depletion.
Whether it’s through my coaching, books, retreats, or speaking, my mission is simple: to help women live their life from a place of wholeness and joy. I want readers to know that the SHERO Method isn’t just a framework — it’s a movement reminding women everywhere that it’s time to stop living only for others and finally say YES to themselves.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was actually very shy, which is kind of the opposite of the woman I am today. From a very young age, I learned to be a people pleaser. It wasn’t something anyone sat me down and told me to do; it was modeled generation after generation in my family. We were taught to keep the peace, say yes even when we wanted to say no, and make sure everyone else was happy first.
Some of my best memories were spending time with my Granny. She was my safe place, and I loved being with her. But even then, I picked up on how she put everyone else’s needs ahead of her own, and I thought that was just what women were supposed to do.
Looking back, I can see how much that shaped me, it gave me compassion and sensitivity, but it also meant I didn’t know how to stand up for myself for a long time. That’s why the work I do today is so close to my heart. I help women unlearn that people-pleasing pattern, set boundaries without guilt, and finally live for themselves. In a way, I’ve turned the lessons of my childhood into the mission that fuels me now
