Conversations with The Matchmaker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Goldfischer.

Linda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
So, I originally started Matchmaking back in 2005. I was going through a divorce and moved from Florida back up North to be with my family. I worked up North for the big Corporate Matchmaking Companies for many years, including Great Expectations & It’s Just Lunch. Shortly after moving back to Florida in 2017 – I still was working for a Corporate Matchmaker; I ended up going through another divorce & decided to open my own agency in December of 2018. It has been a blessing to be able to run my own agency and help so many clients find love again. The bulk of my clients are empty nesters and retired singles, along with the widows & widowers. Everyone deserves that special person. My calling comes from my faith. God has given me a gift of empathy for those who may need healing from a broken heart or encouragement while they are in their season of “singleness”. I like to use my own failed relationships as a guard rail for what NOT to do while navigating the dating waters… If a client does enquire about my status, I am very honest about my experience of finding a partner. I tell them, “Please, learn from my mistakes” So, I also incorporate detailed Compatibility Indicators & Key Life Values into making sure my clients are successfully matched with qualified singles.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting the database started from scratch took a lot of networking, for example attending social events and Chamber events. But once the word got out, I was able to leverage digital and social media marketing as well, along with a great referral system from current clients who are being matched successfully. Covid was a rough patch because clients were concerned about meeting in public places, people were definitely staying home. But it turned out that my private introductions were a great way for singles to meet instead of just staying home and being completely isolated. Thank goodness Florida was also one of the least restrictive states when it came to the whole “Lock Down” thing. And of course it has been booming ever since. People from all over the country who have recently moved to Florida reach out to me for connections. I have also been doing Singles events which get people connected in a casual fun environment,

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

My personal coaching for my VIP clients during their journey to love is something that separates me from other dating services. I also qualify & screen each client to make sure they are serious and sincere about a long-term committed relationship or marriage. I look for clients who are financially stable, and I do criminal background checks to make sure they are who they say they are. Also, this year I was voted The Guide to Florida’s -Best of Florida 2025 in my category.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I genuinely believe in love and that there is someone for everyone. Or as we say in The Business: “there is a lid for every pot”
