Conversations with Adency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adency.

Hi Adency, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For many years I worked jobs I dreaded going to and always felt a pull to “something more” but didn’t know what that “something more” was. After years of dreading my jobs, I quit with no plan. This leap of faith catapulted me into a self-discovery journey of finding out what I actually wanted, trying business idea after business idea, and trying to figure out how to combine passion and income.

After years of trial and error and deep self-discovery, I started to feel a pull to start to share my journey and personal growth online. I dreamed of speaking on stages but hid from this inner pull for years. I told myself I wasn’t “wise enough, “old enough,” or “worthy enough” to be sharing my wisdom and to be the one in the spotlight sharing on social media and on stages. But the thing about an inner calling is it doesn’t quit calling until you answer.

Even though I was very out of my comfort zone, and didn’t feel “qualified,” step by step I started to show up and follow the inner pull. First I started sharing on social media, then as a coach, and eventually as a speaker. I had to face massive internal hurdles such as imposter syndrome, lack of self-worth, self-doubt, self-criticism, self-judgement in order to start to believe in myself that I was worthy and qualified to share my message and help others.

I believe that we all have a message to share and are created to help others in our own unique way. This is why I now do what I do as a Visibility Coach & Speaker. I help those called to a mission step into claiming their voice and believing they are worthy to share it so they can get their message out to the masses and create the impact they know they are here for.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been far from a smooth road. The biggest struggles for myself along the way have all been internal. One of the biggest obstacles was believing that I wasn’t worthy to share my message and help others and also feeling incredibly self-conscious when I was posting online, coaching, or speaking. Through a lot of trial, error, healing, and growth I slowly started to unlearn and unravel all of the beliefs and conditioning causing me to think I wasn’t worthy enough. I started to find my voice, feel more authentic, brave, and confident in myself and my work. The internal struggles have been far from easy to face but I wouldn’t have had it any other way because it’s what helped me learn the lessons and wisdom I needed to learn in order to support others through their internal challenges.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Visibility Coach & Speaker. I help mission driven entrepreneurs, leaders, and business professionals unlock their voice, confidence, and personal power by guiding them in how to break through fears of judgement, rejection, and criticism. Many of my clients share that when working with me, they experience a safe space that invites them to let their walls down not only with others, but also with themselves. In this type of environment, this is where we get to actually know and connect with who we are beyond all of our self-doubt, imposter syndrome, comparison, judgement, etc. We are able to feel who we are “beneath the surface” and connect with our true self who isn’t worried about what other people think and instead feels whole and worthy.

I’m most proud of witnessing my clients break through their own internal blocks and fears so they can start taking action towards their craziest, wildest dreams. It’s beautiful to witness them grow in their worth, confidence, voice, and following through on the life they’ve always dreamed of living.

What sets me apart from others, is that I’m not actually teaching you anything “new.” I’m just helping you guide yourself back to you.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was pretty shy. My big brother liked to “take the stage” and be the loud one and I would be shy and quiet in the background. I started riding horses when I was seven years old which became my whole world. I started teaching lessons and training horses for other people at the age of twelve. I was very talented and determined that the horse industry was where I was meant to be for the rest of my life. I decided to not go to college and instead attended a horsemanship training ranch. But in my mid twenties, I became completely burnt out. It took me a couple years to transition out of the horse industry because of my limiting beliefs like the fact that I didn’t have a college degree and didn’t know myself at all whatsoever outside of horses. It had been my whole identity. But eventually I took a leap of faith, left the horse industry with no plan, and got catapulted into a self-discovery journey which brought me to where I am today.
