Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jennifer Desroches of Tampa/Polk

Jennifer Desroches shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
All three qualities intelligence, energy, and integrity are important, but if I had to choose, I would say integrity is most important. Intelligence and energy can accomplish a lot, but without integrity, they can easily be misdirected. Integrity builds trust, sustains relationships, and ensures that decisions are made with consistency and fairness. With integrity as the foundation, intelligence and energy can be used in the right way to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jennifer Desroches, and I am the founder of JAD Financial Wealth as well as a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families. Through JAD Financial Wealth, I help people take control of their finances, repair their credit, and build strategies for long-term financial stability and growth. What makes our brand unique is that we don’t just focus on numbers we focus on people. We provide tools, education, and guidance that give clients confidence and freedom in their financial journey.

Alongside that, my nonprofit allows me to give back to the community in a meaningful way. We focus on support, resources, and programs that uplift families and individuals who might otherwise feel overlooked. My passion comes from my own journey and desire to see others win not just financially, but in life overall.

Right now, I’m working on expanding both organizations so we can reach more people, create greater impact, and continue to build legacies of wealth, stability, and opportunity..

Also, adding Real Estate to my belt.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The person who saw me clearly before I could see myself was my parents, Eddy and Gislaine. They recognized potential, strength, and purpose in me at times when I didn’t fully recognize it in myself. Their guidance, encouragement, and belief in me helped shape the leader I am today, both in business and in service to others. Having someone see beyond where you are and point you toward where you’re going is truly life-changing.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience, empathy, and faith in a way success never could. Success feels good, but it doesn’t always stretch you. Suffering, on the other hand, reveals your strength, shows you who you really are, and teaches you to value even the smallest victories. It gave me a deeper compassion for others and a greater appreciation for the journey not just the destination. Without those seasons of hardship, I wouldn’t have the same humility, perseverance, or clarity of purpose that I carry with me today.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me.

I believe authenticity is essential in both business and ministry, so what people see publicly is a true reflection of my values, priorities, and purpose. As the founder of JAD Financial Wealth and a leader in our nonprofit, I intentionally show up with honesty, compassion, and a commitment to service. That means sharing wins and lessons, holding myself accountable, and making decisions that align with long-term integrity over short-term gain.

Of course, everyone has private moments and layers that aren’t publicized vulnerability, ongoing growth, and the quiet work behind the scenes. But the principles that guide me privately; faith, resilience, and a drive to help others win; are the same ones you’ll see in public. In short: I aim for consistency between who I am behind closed doors and who I am in front of the community.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
What would remain is my character, my faith, and the impact I’ve made on others.

If I laid down my name, role, and possessions, the things that would still matter are the relationships I’ve built, the lives I’ve served, and the values I live by faith, integrity, compassion, and perseverance. The work I’ve done through JAD Financial Wealth and our nonprofit wouldn’t vanish; it would live on in the people I helped, the knowledge I shared, and the opportunities I created for others to thrive. Ultimately, legacy isn’t about titles or things it’s the transformation that continues after you step back.
