Story & Lesson Highlights with Vanessa Calle of Wesley Chapel

Vanessa Calle shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Vanessa, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I would hire myself because I am dependable, adaptable, and always ready to tackle challenges head-on. What sets me apart from most interior designers is that I will be offering real estate services sometime next year.
The Nessa brand has a creative vision influenced by fashion, beauty, music, food, and architecture. At Nessa Interiors, our aesthetic approach is designed to be relatable. I believe supporting local businesses in the Tampa Bay area will help promote the interiors industry in a way that resonates with not only our community but anyone who tunes in.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Vanessa Calle, and my entrepreneurial journey began over a decade ago in the cosmetology industry, where I built a loyal clientele in the New Tampa area. In 2018, I launched my first business, Nessa Beauty, which was closely tied to my love for interiors. I learned to embrace my talent for curation, and in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I took a leap of faith and established my first interior design studio amidst the real estate boom. Little did I know that this venture would lay the groundwork for the launch of Nessa Interiors. At the beginning of 2025, Nessa Interiors officially launched, and the local support has been tremendous so far.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world imposed its expectations on me, I was shy yet curious and possessed a relentless creativity from a young age. I marched to the beat of my own drum, unafraid of judgment.

As I transitioned from my teenage years into my twenties, I faced a period where I felt a deep fear of judgment while sadly enduring an abusive relationship.

Deep down, I have always been compassionate and imaginative. I thrive on connecting with like-minded individuals, whether through creative endeavors or shared passions.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For a long time, the fear of failure and judgment held me back. It wasn’t until a pivotal moment in my life that I felt I had no choice but to make up for lost time.
Once I developed the confidence to pursue my goals, my survival instincts and relentless marketing approach kicked in.
I have come to understand that mistakes are our best teachers and that failure is a crucial part of growth. I am right where I need to be. By taking risks and disregarding the noise and opinions of others, I have been able to overcome my fear of failure and become my own advocate.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Honesty and loyalty are important in all aspects of life, whether in romantic relationships, business, or friendships.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I truly feel most at peace at home with my dog.
