Kaja Johnpierre of Tampa on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kaja Johnpierre. Check out our conversation below.

Kaja, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My spiritual lifestyle

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a beauty brand strategist, lash educator, and salon suite owner. My journey started when I lost my job, but instead of letting that break me, I leaned on my faith and stepped out as a lash artist. That leap grew into opening my own salon suite, and now I’m expanding into my second location.

What makes my brand special is that it’s built on both beauty and purpose. I don’t just focus on services. I mentor and teach others how to brand, market, and grow their own businesses. For me, it’s about walking in faith, creating freedom, and opening doors for others to do the same.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom definitely taught me the most about work. She’s always had that entrepreneurial mindset, never worked for anyone in her life, and growing up I watched her build multiple businesses. She’s one of the hardest-working women I know, and she always pushed me, encouraged me, and spoke life into me. She even invested in my first business, which meant everything. I’ve always looked up to her, and she’s been a big reason why I had the courage to step out on my own.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I wanted to give up early on when I didn’t have enough clients, the profits weren’t there, and the vision with my then-partner just wasn’t aligning. I ended that partnership, started fresh, and honestly almost walked away. But God sent me a destiny helper right when I needed it most, and that shift showed me why I had to keep going. Looking back, I’m so glad I didn’t give up.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. The public version of me is the real me. I’m a woman of integrity, and I don’t know how to fake or hide who I am. What you see is what you get, my true self everywhere I go.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m walking in my purpose pleasing God and knowing I’ve poured into someone’s life, whether through mentoring, encouraging, or just being an example. That fulfillment in both business and family brings me true peace.
