An Inspired Chat with Chase Baxter of Carrollwood

We recently had the chance to connect with Chase Baxter and have shared our conversation below.

Chase, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
These days, my schedule is packed! We’re just starting to wind down from the summer rush, but the holiday season is already creeping up. I usually start my mornings early with a cup of coffee before diving into the day. Most of my time is spent visiting clients’ homes from 8 AM to 6 PM—sometimes longer, depending on the day. In between appointments, I squeeze in errands and eat my prepped meals. After work, my husband and I, both car enthusiasts, usually find a project to tinker with and unwind together in the garage.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Chase, the owner of Baxter Pet Sitting! We’re proudly based in Carrollwood and also serve the surrounding areas. My passion for animals started at a young age—I even created blueprints and a full business plan for a doggy daycare as a child. Although I didn’t have the resources to bring that dream to life back then, it planted the seed for what would come later.

Baxter Pet Sitting originally began as a small side hustle to earn extra income while I was working full-time and planning my wedding. When the gym I worked for unexpectedly closed with just 12 hours’ notice, my husband encouraged me to pursue the business full time. Though I was nervous, I took all the necessary steps to launch it properly—and I’ve never looked back.

While I’ve been caring for pets professionally for three years, I’m proud to say it’s now been one full year of officially owning and operating Baxter Pet Sitting!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Growing up, I truly believed that success was only possible with a college degree. Despite my father’s constant encouragement that I could become something great without one—and even build a strong entrepreneurial path—I struggled to believe him, especially as I watched all my peers head off to college.

Now, with the perspective that comes with age and experience, I realize he was right all along (as usual). I should have trusted his advice from the start—because here I am today, living proof that there’s more than one path to success.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Just do it! Don’t be afraid.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I can honestly say that the version of me you see on social media is the real me. I’m committed to showing up authentically and sharing the raw, unfiltered truth of my life.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 years left, I’d let go of the negative mindset I sometimes carry. I truly believe our outlook can shape our reality, and too often, we hold ourselves back with limiting thoughts. I want to live with more intention, gratitude, and positivity—because life is too short not to.
