We recently had the chance to connect with Jackie Arturi and have shared our conversation below.
Jackie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day typically involve getting myself and my kids situated and drinking a wonderful hot cup of coffee to be able the conquer the day. Then I like to make a list of the things that I need to accomplish for the day . Whether that be bakery orders , errands , or chores .
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jackie Arturi and I am the owner of Arturi’s Sweets and Treats! I started this journey the summer of 2020. Since I was little , I always loved art and baking. Why not put those together ! When I first started , I only offered regular cookies but with many requests , we expanded to a full custom bakery offering a wide variety of goodies to meet your sweet treat needs. I believe in offering an experience with each customer that makes them feel important and that each order means so much to me . I love all of my clientele !
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my children has completely shaped who I am as a person. My husband Josh and I have three beautiful boys that are our lives. When I was younger , I had a hard time figuring out what my life purpose was and what I was genuinely good at . Once we started a family , I knew my calling in life was to be a mom. I love my line of work but being a mother to my boys is everything.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My biggest fear is the unknown and also new situations. I have always been a shy person and do not like putting myself out there. Over the years of doing the bakery , I have had to push myself but it has definitely held me back. I also struggle with the feeling of rejection so I tend to keep to myself to avoid it which I know is a downfall.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version is definitely the real me for the most part . The only difference is I am way more introverted than I come across. I like to be in my bubble at home haha. But I like to say I am a friendly and respectful person that can be slightly awkward around people . Working from home and being a stay at home mom has definitely created a sense of social anxiety .
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left , I would stop worrying about things out of my control and live life to the fullest. I would travel more , create more memories , and stop focusing so heavily on small things that work themselves out eventually.
