Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Kimberly Jackson of Brandon/Riverview Area

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kimberly Jackson. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Kimberly, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
“Integrity is most important to me. Intelligence and energy are valuable, but without integrity, they lack a foundation to stand on. Integrity is what sustains trust, builds credibility, and ensures that the work you do leaves a positive and lasting impact. It means being the same person in public as you are in private, keeping your word even when it’s inconvenient, and making decisions based on values rather than convenience. In my experience, integrity inspires confidence, fosters strong relationships, and creates environments where both people and organizations can thrive.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“I’m Kimberly Jackson, Founder and Executive Director of Divine Destiny Center and CEO of KCM INT LLC. My life’s work centers on restoration, empowerment, and purpose activation—helping people discover who they were created to be and walk boldly in that calling. Through Divine Destiny Center, our nonprofit arm, we serve women, youth, and the community with programs like Destined 2 Win youth mentoring, the Her Destiny women’s restoration program, Striving for Excellence leadership and scholarship initiatives, Divinely Living health and wellness, and targeted community outreach for the unhoused and underserved.

While I’m deeply committed to DDC’s mission, in this interview I want to focus on KCM INT LLC, my coaching, consulting, and leadership development company. KCM bridges ministry and marketplace by equipping leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations to operate with purpose, vision, and integrity. We offer purpose-driven life coaching, nonprofit consulting, leadership training, and signature events, such as the Leader Shift Conference, which brings together dynamic voices to inspire and equip leaders.

What makes KCM unique is that we approach leadership and business through a faith-based yet convenient lens—providing tools, strategies, and accountability that help clients not only dream but execute. My approach is deeply personal because it’s rooted in my journey of navigating seasons of uncertainty, loss, and transformation, and learning how to build with both purpose and sustainability.

Right now, I’m expanding KCM’s reach through new courses, digital resources, and collaborations designed to help purpose-driven individuals and organizations grow, thrive, and make a lasting impact.”

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
“A lack of trust, miscommunication, and unaddressed hurt often break the bonds between people. When there’s no space for honesty or understanding, walls go up, assumptions take root, and relationships can fracture. In my experience, pride and unwillingness to listen can keep those walls in place even longer.

What restores bonds is humility, forgiveness, and intentional communication. It takes courage to admit when we’ve been wrong and grace to forgive when we’ve been hurt. Restoration happens when both sides are willing to listen without judgment, seek to understand rather than defend, and commit to rebuilding trust over time.

In my work through Divine Destiny Center and KCM, I’ve seen relationships—whether personal, professional, or community-based—come back stronger when truth is spoken in love, empathy is present, and actions align with words. Healing is possible when both parties value the relationship more than the offense.”

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“I would tell my younger self, ‘You are enough just as you are.’ You don’t have to overwork to prove your worth, and you don’t have to shrink to make others comfortable. God placed something unique inside you that the world needs—your voice, your vision, your compassion, and your calling.

I would remind her that it’s okay to take up space, to stand firm in her convictions, and to trust the process even when the path doesn’t make sense. Every challenge, every loss, and even every mistake will become part of a bigger picture that will inspire and help others. You won’t always see it in the moment, but you’ll look back and realize that God was weaving purpose into every season of your life.

I’d want her to know that grace is not earned—it’s a gift. You can walk boldly knowing you are loved, chosen, and fully equipped for what’s ahead.”

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
“One of the most foundational truths in my life is that God’s purpose for me is greater than any circumstance I face. I live by the belief that nothing is wasted—every challenge, delay, or detour is part of His divine plan for my growth and assignment. Another truth I rarely articulate because it’s so ingrained is that integrity matters in every setting. Titles, talent, and opportunity may open doors, but character is what keeps them open.

I also hold the unshakable belief that people matter more than positions. No accomplishment is worth sacrificing compassion, empathy, or the chance to lift someone else up. These truths guide how I lead, how I serve, and how I show up—whether anyone is watching or not.”

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
“I’m doing what I was born to do. There was a time when I followed the path I thought I was supposed to take—the one that seemed safe, made sense on paper, or aligned with what others believed was best for me. I checked the boxes, fulfilled responsibilities, and tried to fit into molds that didn’t reflect who I truly was.

But through seasons of loss, faith, and intentional reflection, I began to see that my fulfillment wasn’t coming from meeting expectations—it was coming from moments when I was serving, leading, and inspiring others in a way that aligned with my God-given calling. That realization changed everything.

Today, through Divine Destiny Center, KCM INT LLC, and my work as a coach, speaker, and leader, I am living in that purpose. I’m helping people find their voice, embrace their identity, and walk boldly in the assignments God has given them. It’s not always the easiest or most predictable path, but it’s the one that brings me joy, peace, and a deep sense of alignment with who I was created to be.

I believe there’s a freedom that comes when you step away from what you’ve been told to do and lean fully into what you were born to do—because that’s where your true impact and influence are found.”
