Zeke Esdale shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Zeke , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy is the most important to me! Everything comes from energy. Even if it’s not visible. Energy can change bad to good but also good to bad. So I try to wake up everyday with a smile on my face and thankful to be alive to do something different everyday. Just a smile at somebody could change their whole day!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Isaiah Esdale but everyone calls me Zeke. I am a former athlete turned trainer/instructor! I played football my whole life until about 3 years ago and since I’ve started this business I haven’t looked back. ZekeyOnTheBeach is a mobile fitness group filled with energy, movement, and fun! Also located at ALL beautiful locations. The group is special because it isn’t just inside a boring facility where you do the class and leave! You mingle with new people and enjoy events like birthdays or even just a brunch after the classes. I’m building this brand because I want people to be healthy in every aspect of life physically, mentally, and emotionally!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
There are endless amounts of people who taught me about work but the person I give the most praise is my mother! Raising me and my siblings mostly alone speaks power and love. Seeing this only put more motivation and grit into my soul. It taught me to fight and push for what you love. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without growing up seeing her do what she did.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was few times where I almost gave up but that’s because it takes a lot for me to give up. One specific time is when my father died. I was out of sports senior in high school lost in all the wrong things. I could feel myself slipping away everyday losing motivation to shine the light I was supposed to shine. I was in places I shouldn’t be, doing things I shouldn’t be doing, and just overall not me .. just giving up. My mind was already built tough and I flipped the entire script and started an amazing, long, and tough journey !
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Just letting them know I love them and that no matter distance or time that bond will never be broken. I appreciate all of my close friends and relationships who have treated me how they want to be treated. I was always the friend on the move in different place but as soon as I see them again nothing changes it’s right back to normal.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the tell the journey of my life and how I overcame obstacles that many people could not. I would hope they would talk about the energy I try to pass to people just through a simple hello or smile! I hope that they would talk about the toughness physically and mentally of the pain that I’ve endured but still manage to smile and bring people up. Because at the end of the day all I want is for people to be better health wise physically and mentally!
